The El Paso Parks and Recreation Department invites dog owners and their pets to the annual Doggie Swimming Day event from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, September 9, and Sunday, September 10, at Nations Tobin Pool located at 8831 Railroad Dr.
The 9th annual event gives dogs the opportunity to go swimming in the outdoor pool before the pool shuts down for the winter. The Parks and Recreation Department is also planning several dog-friendly activities during the event.
Admission is $2 per dog (pet owners free). Pet owners must bring a paper copy of their dog’s shot records in order to participate in the event. Dogs that only have collar tags will not be allowed to participate. All shot records must show current rabies, distemper and parvo information.
In addition, the City of El Paso Animal Services Department and the Animal Rescue League will provide pet adoptions at the location.
Animals Services will also provide free microchip checks to help owners update the contact information on their pet’s microchips.
