The City of El Paso is calling all performers and artists, as the El Paso Public Library is looking for talented entertainers to be part of the Summer Reading Program.
The library is actively recruiting musicians, magicians, storytellers, clowns, science gurus, artists, and other specialists to provide family-friendly recreational, educational, and cultural performances for children, teens, and families.
More than any other time of year, libraries are alive with performances over the summer to entertain summer readers.
During the Summer Reading Club program, all 12 library branches host high-quality programs such as crafting, gaming, music, magic, art, and more.
The reading program is open to all ages, but events typically target the following age groups: early literacy (babies and toddlers), elementary (ages 5-12), and teens (ages 13-18).
How to apply:
- Attend an informational session at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, January 29, in the children’s area of the main public library downtown
- Submit a single PDF file to firstname.lastname@example.org that includes a letter of interest, professional resume, and images and/or description of a sample program, including rate fees
- Application deadline – March 31.
El Paso Public Library staff will review applications and meet with performers to develop a roster of local artists to be considered for library programming.
Artists will be notified by email of acceptance to the roster.
