Podcast – Amy’s Everyday Astronomy: Journey through the Solar System – Venus

I know you all understand, given the events of late, why it has taken so long for me to put out this next episode. But I hope you’ll join me today, as we travel to our nearest planetary neighbor: Venus.

This is a place that has been visited by more than 40 spacecraft. In the 1990s, the Magellan Mission was able to map the surface of Earth’s twin. And currently, a Japanese research group is studying Venus through observations made by the Akatsuki spacecraft.

Their latest findings on some very striking cloud features were published back in January in Nature Communications.

So hit play and let’s continue our journey through the solar system.
