Public Service Board welcomes Lisa Saenz as new member

On Wednesday morning the Public Service Board welcomed its newest member, Lisa Saenz.

“Being a part of WestStar Bank and serving on other non-profit boards, it’s ingrained in me to give back to the community I live in,” said Saenz. “I want to look out for the best interests of the people of El Paso.”

Saenz is the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of WestStar Bank. Saenz’s career includes work in the areas of accounting, treasury, information technology, branch operations and wealth management.

Saenz, who is a Certified Public Accountant, will fill the Financial Management role. She succeeds Terri Garcia who served two four-year terms on the Board.

“We thank Terri for her eight years of outstanding service on the PSB,” said EPWater President and CEO John Balliew. “We also welcome the financial expertise Lisa Saenz will bring to the board, along with her experience and passion to serve on several non-profit boards in El Paso,”

Saenz currently serves as Board Chair for the Paso del Norte Health Foundation, serves as Chair of the Audit and Finance Committee, and is a member of the Investment Committee. She has also served on several financial boards and committees.

El Paso Water is governed by the Public Service Board, which consists of the Mayor of the City of El Paso and six board members, who are appointed by the City Council. Board members serve four-year terms.
