Tacoma’s Trey Amburgey hit a two-run go-ahead home run in the bottom of the eighth inning Saturday, as the Rainiers beat the El Paso Chihuahuas 5-4. Tacoma has won three of the first five games in the six-game series.

Trailing 3-0 in the second inning, El Paso shortstop Eguy Rosario hit a three-run home run to tie the game. It was Rosario’s 16th home run of the season and his second in as many games. Chihuahuas reliever Tayler Scott struck out six Rainiers in 2.1 innings, his longest Triple-A relief outing of the year.
The Chihuahuas had been 40-4 when leading after seven innings before Saturday’s game. El Paso has lost seven of its last nine games but all seven losses were by three runs or less. The Chihuahuas last three games have all been completed in less than two and a half hours.
