Residents who are interested in learning how City government works may now enroll in the annual Neighborhood Leadership Academy organized by the City of El Paso Community and Human Development Department.
Participants will receive first-hand information about City services and programs through comprehensive presentations from City department leaders and on-site field trips to various public facilities. The 12th annual Neighborhood Leadership Academy is free but space is limited to the first 50 participants who enroll.
Registration is open to residents 18 years of age or older who live within the El Paso City limits.
Classes are held on Wednesdays from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at various locations. The first class begins on February 7. The academy is expected to run through June 20. Spanish translation and interpretation is available upon request. Participants will receive a certificate of completion following the academy.
Interested residents have until January 29, 2018 to register for the academy. Applications can be submitted online or picked up at the Community and Human Development Department.
