Enrollment for the 13th Annual Neighborhood Leadership Academy is now open and the City of El Paso’s Community and Human Development Department is looking for residents who are interested in learning how their municipal government works.
Participants will receive first-hand information about City services and programs through comprehensive presentations from City department leaders and on-site field trips to various public facilities.
The Neighborhood Leadership Academy is free, but space is limited to the first 50 participants who enroll.
Participants will receive a certificate of completion following the Academy. Graduates of the program become eligible to participate in a free series of leadership skill development trainings offered by Neighborhood Services, and many graduates have moved on to serve on various local boards and commissions.
Classes are held on Wednesdays from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at various locations. The first class begins on February 13, 2019 and is expected to run through June 26, 2019.
Registration is open to residents 18 years of age or older that live or work within the El Paso city limits. Those interested must complete an application and return it by February 4, 2019. Applications are available online or can be picked up at 801 Texas Avenue, 3rd floor – Neighborhood Services Division. They must be submitted online, email, via mail or in person.
