The El Paso Chihuahuas had two different comebacks Sunday but the Reno Aces scored four runs in the bottom of the sixth and stayed ahead for good in their 11-6 win. The two teams have split the first two games of the series.
El Paso trailed 4-0 when Jamie Romak hit a two-run home run in the third and Rafael Ortega hit a two-run home run in the fourth to tie the game. Romak now has four home runs, which ties him with teammate Franchy Cordero for the second most in the Pacific Coast League.
The Chihuahuas were behind 5-4 in the fifth when Jabari Blash tagged up and scored all the way from second base on a diving catch in deep center field. The sacrifice fly tied the game.
Reno sent 10 batters to the plate in the sixth inning, scoring four runs against rehabbing Padres pitcher Carter Capps to go ahead. Collin Cowgill hit a solo home run in the seventh but it was not enough to catch the Aces.
Former Chihuahuas Keyvius Sampson and Reymond Fuentes were both in the starting lineup for Reno.
