Report: El Paso Records Highest YTD Occupancy in State of Texas

A national firm specializing in travel and hotel researched announced on Thursday that the Sun City led the state in hotel occupancy late last year.

Data released by Smith Travel Research (STR), the nation’s leading travel research firm, confirms that El Paso’s hotel occupancy for the month of November 2018 was 81.3%, a 17.1% increase over same month prior year.

“We are pleased to see the continued growth of El Paso’s lodging industry and to see El Paso is on pace to finish 2018 ahead of the prior year,” said Bryan Crowe, General Manager of Destination El Paso. “El Paso is once again, leading the state in occupancy and we look forward to continuing to share the news of El Paso’s new developments and continued growth in the lodging industry.

Additionally, El Paso’s YTD total through November 2018 led the state at 72.8%, a 7.9% increase over the same period in the prior year.

Also impressive is that El Paso’s hotel revenue totaled $18,450,923 for the month, a 28.8% increase over November 2017 at $14,328,119, marking the highest grossing figure in the month of November in El Paso’s history.

Year to date, revenue is up 3.4% at $178,123,280

The report also shows that the average daily rate per single room for the month was $82.62, a 7.1% increase over prior year, contributing to an increase in the revenue per room of $67.16, a 25.4% gain over last year.
