Residents Encouraged To Report Malfunctioning Street Lights

The City of El Paso Streets and Maintenance Department encourages residents to report street lights that are not working or are damaged.

Malfunctioning street lights, which illuminate neighborhoods, may be reported to the city’s Street and Maintenance Department by calling 3-1-1 or the El Paso Electric Company at (915) 543-5970.

“We want to keep our city safe, especially during this time of the year when the sun sets earlier.  We are asking for the community’s cooperation in reporting streets lights that are not working,” Streets and Maintenance Director Ted Marquez said.

In addition, residents may request installation of a new city street light by filing the request with the Street and Maintenance Department, either online or by calling 3-1-1.  The turnaround time for requests will vary depending on the available funds as well on the support of the residents living in the requested neighborhood.

Residents may submit a request online.

  • I had made a report of a street light that is in front of my home and it took them 6 months to finally come and fix it! I made more than 3 attempts before getting action. So be advised to wait months before they do anything about it!
