Rhinos, Blazers Chase First Place in Hockey at County Coliseum starting Friday

The El Paso Rhinos will be battling for first place in their highly competitive division in the Western States Hockey League this weekend.

The Rhinos will challenge the top-ranked Oklahoma City Blazers in an intense and critical WSHL Mid-Western Division three-game home series at the El Paso County Coliseum Events Center at 4100 E. Paisano.

El Paso, 31-7-2, is in second place in the division, while Oklahoma City, 32-7, leads by just one win. The Rhinos have been guided by forwards Chaseton Sare, who has had an incredible season, with 35 goals and 84 points, and Alex Johanson with 36 goals and 74 points. The Blazers counter with right wing Kirill Romanov and his 26 goals and 58 points.

The games are set for 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Feb. 10-11, and 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 12.

Tickets are $5 for general admission, $7 for Black Section, $10 for Grey Section, $15 for Orange Section, $25 for Glass Section, $30 for Balcony and free for military with ID.
