Undefeated Rhinos to Open Home Hockey Season at Coliseum Friday

The El Paso Rhinos are off to a sizzling start this season and are ready to extend their six-game win streak with their home opener this weekend.

Undefeated El Paso will take on the San Diego Sabers in a Western States Hockey League three-game home series at the El Paso County Coliseum Events Center located at 4100 East Paisano.

The Rhinos opened the new season with six straight victories, sweeping the Dallas Snipers and the Ontario Avalanche. In just six games, the Rhinos have scored a combined 37 goals.

The WSHL, an Amateur Athletic Union-sanctioned Tier II Junior A ice hockey league, features 23 teams split into four divisions: Western, Northwest, Mountain and Mid-Western.

El Paso plays in the Mid-Western Division, along with the Springfield Express, Oklahoma City Blazers, Dallas Snipers and Wichita Jr. Thunder.

The games are set for 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Oct. 27-28, and 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 29. Tickets are $5 for general admission, $7 for Black Section, $10 for Grey Section, $15 for Orange Section, $25 for Glass Section, $30 for Balcony and free for military with ID.

They are available at the El Paso County Coliseum Box Office, all Ticketmaster outlets, by phone at 800-745-3000, online, and at the Coliseum Events Center Ticket Booth, which opens one hour before game time.
