Rhino’s TMNT Jersey Auction Benefits Shriners Hospital for Children

During Saturday’s game, the El Paso Rhinos will auction off game-worn Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Jerseys.  All proceeds of the silent auction will benefit the Shriners Hospital for Children, and are therefore tax deductible.

The Rhinos will wear the jerseys during ‘Hockey Night in El Paso’ on Friday to kick off their series versus Dallas.  The jerseys will then go on sale on Saturday.

The Rhinos successfully kicked off the season this month with a dominating three-game series sweep at Arizona, thrashing the Hawks by a combined 56 goals to 4. They also swept the San Diego Sabers for three straight wins this past weekend in California.

Undefeated El Paso now faces the Dallas Snipers in a three-game series to break open its home season. The games are set for 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Oct. 28-29, and 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 30.

How the jersey auction works:

1. Bid on a player’s game-worn jersey during Saturday’s game.

a. Near the Skate Shack, there will be a table with a bid sheet for each player. Simply write your name on the sheet to place a bid. Please place bids in increments of $10.00.

b. Note: If a player’s bid sheet is missing, his jersey is not up for auction.

2. Check on your bid.

a. Before the auction closes, periodically check your bid sheet to see if you have been outbid. The auction closes at the 10-minute mark of the third period. To win, you must have the highest bid at the 10-minute mark of the third period.

3. Pay for your jersey.

a. The winning bid must pay at the Merchandise Stand at the 9-minute mark of the 3rd period.

b. Note: If you are outbid on a player’s jersey but would like to see if there are other available jerseys, ask at the Merchandise Stand.

4. Pick up your jersey.

a. Once you have paid, you will be given a receipt with the jersey number on it. With your receipt, check in at the table located in the public skating area. You will then be matched with your player who will sign and give you the jersey.
