River Cats Close out Chihuahuas 7-3, Take Series 3-1
Clayton Blackburn got a win against the Chihuahuas Monday for the second time in 10 days, as the Sacramento River Cats beat El Paso 7-3. The River Cats won three of the four games, handing El Paso its first series loss since May 19-22 vs. Round Rock.
El Paso scored once in the first on Austin Hedges’ RBI single and again the second on Manuel Margot’s two-out RBI single. Sacramento then brought in multiple runs in the second, fifth and eighth innings to surge ahead.
Jason Hagerty’s ninth-inning home run, his fourth of the season, capped off the scoring in the game.
Hedges went 2-for-4, his second straight multi-hit game, while Hagerty also went 2-for-4 with an RBI. Alex Dickerson jumped and robbed a home run in the third inning, reaching his glove over the left field wall to catch a ball hit by Sacramento’s Andrew Susac.
