The El Paso International Music Foundation will be hosting their One-Year Anniversary of Rockin’ Tykes coming up on Saturday, September 21st.
Residents are invited to the One-Year Anniversary of Rockin’ Tykes from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Paso Del Norte Children’s Development Center.
A Fun Fair will follow the interactive music event with games and activities for everyone including giveaways.
The event is sponsored by the Paso Del Norte Children’s Development Center and Monk Drums.
“Rockin’ Tykes is one of the El Paso International Music Foundation’s community outreach initiatives that unites music and children from the ages of 18 months through 4 years of age with a fun, hands-on and educational atmosphere featuring live music performed by local musicians,” officials shared via an emailed news release.
Throughout the year, the non-profit organization has provided local musicians with various workshops, mixers, music business education and community outreach such as Rockin’ Tykes which aims to connect the El Paso community and its local artists.
“The free monthly event gives parents the opportunity to incorporate music to help nourish the mind, body, and creative spirit of their child through the art of music,” officials added. “The participation of the parent is most crucial as both parent and child immerse themselves in this fun and playful music experience emphasizing peer interactions as well as developing communication and motor skills.”
Throughout the last year, Rockin’ Tykes was hosted at a variety of locations across El Paso, including Whole Foods, Sunland Park Mall, the Shoppes at El Paso and the El Paso Museum of History.
