The 2015 Fall Rugby season gets underway this Saturday, September 11th with a doubleheader in the Upper Valley.
The Santa Fe Santos travel south to take on the El Paso Scorpions at 2 p.m. Home pitch for the Scorpions is located at 430 La Vinea Avenue in Chamberino, New Mexico. The facility is right next door to the Sombra Antigua Winery, which will be open as well.
The Scorpions dropped their final tune up in a match last week, participating in the Santa Fe 10’s Rugby Tournament. The Scorps finished the tournament 1-2, losing their last match against the always-tough Abq Aardvarks.
Scorpions officials remind fans that admission is free, and they can not only bring a chair and umbrella, but their choice of beverages, including beer.
The UTEP Miners Rugby Club will also be on hand, playing the first game of the doubleheader, scheduled to start at 12:30 p.m.
