San Elizario High School Tennis Team soaring into historic territory

The San Elizario High School Tennis Team’s ethic of hard work has led the group into some historic, rarified air.

Last week, the team won their 6th consecutive district championship, earned a bi-district title with a win against Monahans High School, and most notably went on to beat ranked No.22 Dumas (10-8) to become Area Champions and advance to the regional quarterfinals, which is a first for the SEHS Tennis Team.

“I believe our players buy into the program philosophy; we have consistent players throughout the team,” states Sosa.  It is that consistency that continues to bring the SEHS Tennis Team the success it is experiencing. Coach Sosa shares.

“It has been an honor to coach these kids and be a part of this community; we take nothing for granted and understand that we have to consistently put in the work to achieve consistent results.”

The San Elizario High School Tennis Team will be in Seminole on Tuesday and will play against Canyon Hills High School at 12:00 noon MST/1:00 pm CST in the quarterfinals of the 4A Tennis Conference.
