City of San Elizario Hosts Mega Food & Supply Distribution

On Saturday, October 30, 2021, beginning at 9:00 am, the City of San Elizario will be hosting a mega distribution of much needed food and cleaning supplies to help residents who have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The drive-through event will take place at the San Eli Fire Department, located at 1415 San Antonio St. in San Elizario and will continue until supplies last.

Proof of residency within the city limits of San Elizario is required and only one set of supplies per household will be provided. The supply bundle will include multiple food products and disinfecting cleaning supplies.

Please be advised San Antonio St. and Glorietta Rd. may experience periodic closures and participants are asked not to block any property entrances. Please drive with caution and those not participating in the event, please make every effort to use an alternate route.

“We have had two community giveaways, serving 500 people but this is the largest, with the most supplies being made available,” said Leticia Miranda, Alderperson Place 1 and distribution coordinator. “The City realizes the last two years have been difficult and with the holidays around the corner, we wanted to make sure we helped provide a little extra something that may help our community prepare their holiday celebrations.”

This mega distribution makes use of the remaining CARES Act funding provided to the City of San Eli as all funds are required to be accounted for by December 31, 2021. The City of San Elizario would like to recognize the San Elizario Volunteer Fire Department and El Paso County Emergency Services District #2 for their collaboration on this effort.
