Organizers with Save El Paso Breweries Collaborative announced Monday morning that they will be hosting a ‘Save El Paso Breweries Brewery Crawl’ from January 14th to 17th.
The event, organizers share, is an effort to continue to spread the word about the difficulties the brewery industry is enduring during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“The local craft beer industry continues to battle for survival due to restrictions which limit us from opening our taprooms to the community,” officials shared. “It is predicted that one in three Texas Breweries will permanently close during the pandemic.”
Many Breweries across Texas continue to operate on a to-go and curbside pickup basis only, as they do not meet the TABC criteria to reopen taprooms.
“On-premise retail sales will not rebound to pre-pandemic levels in 2021” stated Brewer’s Association (BA) chief economist Bart Watson.
“The on-premise is not fully going to recover next year…the first half of the year is still going to be weak.”
“The Brewery Association predicts on-premise recovery is not likely until 2022…your continued support is vital to El Paso’s Craft Beer Industry,” organizers added.
To reverse that trend, residents are invited to the weekend’s Brewery Crawl; anyone spending $20 at each participating Brewery, will receive a free, Limited Edition ‘SAVE EL PASO BREWERIES’ Growler.
Participants will get their card stamped at Aurellia’s Bottle Shop & Brewhouse, El Paso Brewing Company, Old Sheepdog Brewery, and Blazing Tree Brewery.
In addition, participating local breweries will be offering specials throughout the weekend.
- Aurellia’s Bottle Shop and Brewhouse, located at1620 North Resler, will have buy one get one half off growler fills or 16oz four-pack cans.
- Blazing Tree Brewery, located at 11426 Rojas Space A, will be offering Blazing Nachos and Beer of the week for $10 and also $10 growler fills on Sunday.
- El Paso Brewing Company, located at 810 Texas Avenue Suite B, will be hosting $10 growler fills on select beers.
- Old Sheepdog Brewery, located at 3900 Rosa Avenue, will be offering 20% off growler fills.
“El Paso’s Breweries continue to unite, especially during these trying times….we are coming together to again ask for El Paso’s support.
