UPDATE: Missing Ascarate-area man found safe

Update: Family members tell the El Paso Herald-Post that 84-year old William James Dumas, who was reported missing on Friday and was the subject of a Silver Alert on Monday, was found safe and sound in Central El Paso.

Family members would like to thank the media for broadcasting the information out, which led to Jim being found so quickly.

A Silver Alert has been issued for a man, missing from the Ascarate-area since Friday.

84-year old William James Dumas, was last seen Friday evening at the Sonic Drive-In along the 6800 block of Alameda. Dumas lives along thte 200 block of Ben Swain, next to Ascarate Park.  Officials say Dumas is known to frequent the Sonic at Alameda and Delta, and regularly visits the cemetery in Fabens. Additionally, Dumas may be suffering from dementia.

Dumas is described as 5’10, weighing 165 pounds, with grey hair and green eyes. He was last seen wearing glasses, a white ball cap, green jacket, light blue dress pants, and black shoes.

Dumas is believed to be driving a 2003 Buick Regal, 4 door, grey in color, with Texas plates BJM-2880.

 Anyone with information on Mr. Dumas’ whereabouts is asked to call the El Paso Police Department at 832-4400.
