UTEP women’s golf will compete in a schedule featuring 10 events during the 2022-23 season, head coach Steve Sims announced on Tuesday.
The Miners will take part in five fall contests and five spring tilts in the first season under their new head coach. Eight of the events were on the schedule last year, providing a team that returns seven golfers strong familiarity with the courses.
To begin the slate, UTEP heads to Springfield, Mo. (Sept. 12-13) to compete in the MSU/Payne Stewart Memorial.
Following the trip to Missouri, the Miners take part in three familiar tournaments for the team with the Huntsville Toyota Bearkat Invitational in Huntsville, Texas (Sept. 26-27), the Aggie Invitational in Las Cruces, N.M. (Oct. 3-5) and the Pat Bradley Invitational in Bradenton, Fla. (Oct. 15-17).
The fall slate is rounded out by The Clash at Boulder Creek in Boulder City, Nev. hosted by Northern Arizona (Oct. 23-25), a new addition to the schedule for this season.
In the spring, the Miners have added another new event with the Tulane Classic in New Orleans at the English Turn Golf & Country Club (Feb. 12-14).
In final preparations for the C-USA Championship, UTEP will compete in the GCU Invitational in Phoenix, Ariz. (Feb. 27-28), the HBU Husky Invitational (March 13-14) and the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic in Maricopa, Ariz. (April 3-4).
C-USA Championship action takes place on April 17-19 at the PGA National Resort in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.
