Skate with Santa set to Start Friday at Coliseum Events Center

El Paso’s most popular and largest public ice skating event is underway.  For the seventh year, El Pasoans are pulling on skates and gliding along in the city’s only professional, regulation-size ice skating rink during the annual Holidays On Ice at the El Paso County Coliseum Events Center, 4100 E. Paisano.

Beginning this week, the popular Skate with Santa sessions will take place: The indoor rink is home to the El Paso Rhinos professional hockey team and opens for the special holiday event every year for all skaters, beginners or experienced.

Holidays On Ice runs through Jan. 29 and features fun themed nights, special guests, giveaways and more.

The concessions stand will be open. More than 1,500 pairs of skates are ready for the public and, as always, the price is only $8, $6 for military, all with free skate rental.

Special $2 discount coupons are available at All That Music and Video, 6800 Gateway East; Upper Valley Urgent Care, 121 Redd; and on the El Paso County Coliseum Events Center Facebook page.
