Sky Sox Shred Chihuahuas 13-1; ‘Dogs, Salt Lake Tied for First Place
The El Paso Chihuahuas lost 13-1 to the Colorado Springs Sky Sox Tuesday night in the first game of El Paso’s seven-day road trip.
The Sky Sox had 20 hits, which is the most allowed by El Paso pitching in a game this season.
San Diego Padres pitcher Jordan Lyles allowed seven runs in a three-inning MLB injury rehab start, his second rehab appearance with El Paso. Fellow rehabbing Padres pitcher Jose Castillo threw a scoreless relief inning in the loss.
The Chihuahuas run came on an RBI single by Shane Peterson in the sixth inning.
El Paso catcher Francisco Mejia went 1-for-4 with an infield single in his first game in the Padres organization after a recent trade with the Cleveland Indians.
