SkySox Strike Early, Sink Chihuahuas 4-2

The Colorado Springs Sky Sox beat the El Paso Chihuahuas 4-2 Wednesday to win their second consecutive game at Southwest University Park.

The Sky Sox scored twice early for the third consecutive game, bringing in two runs on two hits in the top of the first. As they did in the previous two games, the Chihuahuas came back quickly to tie it Wednesday.

El Paso scored two runs in the second inning on an RBI groundout by Diego Goris and an RBI double by Dusty Coleman, his seventh double of the year.

Colorado Springs broke the tie with two runs in the seventh inning and the Sky Sox bullpen did not allow any runs or hits in the final three innings of the game.

Tyrell Jenkins put together his third consecutive solid start, allowing three earned runs in 6.2 innings and retiring 12 consecutive batters between the third and sixth innings. Rafael Ortega went 2-for-4 atop the order for El Paso.
