As voted on by El Pasoans, El Paso Inc’s yearly ‘Best of El Paso’ named several Socorro ISD schools and educators at the top of their list.
They yearly competition recognizes local business, institutions, and individuals that support the El Paso area with their outstanding customer service and community support.
Dr. Sue A. Shook Elementary Principal Cristina Sanchez-Chavira celebrated her school for placing fourth in the Public Elementary Schools category and congratulated fellow Socorro school Myrtle Cooper Elementary for their honors.
“Congratulations @DSShook_ES @MCooper_ES teachers, students, staff, and community for being named one of El Paso’s Best of the Best,” Sanchez-Chavira said via Twitter. “Proud to be a part of #TeamSISD.”
Myrtle Cooper Elementary won several honors among El Paso area schools, including third place in the Elementary Teacher category, second place in the Principal category, and second place in the Public Elementary School category.
“We are grateful to our community that recognized Myrtle Cooper as one of the Best of El Paso,” said Myrtle Cooper Elementary principal Alicia Miranda. “I am proud of the hard work and continuous professional growth of our Pirate faculty and staff. As part of Team SISD, we lead with heart!”
Other SISD honors include Georgeena Valdez in third place for the Elementary Teacher category, Lizzie Martinez Mena in fourth place for the Elementary Teacher category, and Montwood High School in fifth place for the Public High Schools category.
