Socorro ISD Fine Arts ‘What’s Poppin?!?’ Pop Art Contest open to students, employees

The Socorro Independent School District Fine Arts Department invites students and employees to get creative for “What’s Poppin?!?,” the district’s second annual pop art contest.

Students and employees can submit two or three-dimensional artwork for the contest.

Participants are encouraged to channel their inner pop artists to inspire their creative work. It should reflect or depict popular and mass culture, such as celebrities, comic book characters, or everyday mass-produced cultural objects.

More than 480 submissions were entered in last year’s Team SISD pop art contest.

Prizes will be awarded to the top three pieces in each category — elementary, middle school, high school, and employee.

All entries must contain appropriate content that adheres to Socorro ISD policies and procedures. Submissions may be made online by selecting “Art Show” under “My Tools” in the my.sisd.net portal.

Deadline for submissions is November 13.
