Socorro ISD students, families, and alumni will be celebrating at 2021 homecoming festivities showing their school spirit and support, for the next couple of months.
Six Socorro ISD comprehensive high schools and Mission Early College High School will be having a week’s worth of dress up days, parades, games, and dances.
More details on a particular school or alma mater’s festivities are listed below.
Pebble Hills High School homecoming Sept. 7 – 11
Pebble Hills High School will celebrate homecoming Sept. 7 through 11 at the school. The events will have a Broadway theme.
Dress up days will be Grease (50’s) Sept. 7, School of Rock (Rock shirts) on Sept. 8, Mamma Mia (Triplets) on Sept. 9, and Far East Side Story – Spear-It Day (Class colors) on Sept. 10.
The parade, which will begin at the student parking lot on John Hayes, before turning down Charles Foster, then back onto Pebble Hills, and end back at the student parking lot, will be at 6 p.m. Sept. 8.
The homecoming football game against the El Dorado Aztecs will be at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 10 at the SISD Student Activities Complex.
The homecoming dance with the theme of Wicked – There’s No Place Like Homecoming will be from 8 p.m. to 12 a.m. Sept. 11 in the Pebble Hills High School patio.
El Dorado High School Homecoming Sept. 13 – 18
El Dorado High School will celebrate homecoming Sept. 13 through 18 at the school. This year’s events will be set to the theme of Cirque du Aztec Soleil.
Dress up days will be Mime Monday on Sept. 13, Twin Tuesday on Sept. 14, Wacky Wednesday on Sept. 15, and Animal Print Thursday on Sep. 16.
The school’s football game against the Clint Lions will be at 7 p.m. Sept. 17 at the SISD Student Activities Complex. The homecoming dance will be Sept. 18.
Americas High School homecoming Sept. 20 – 25
Americas High School will celebrate Sept. 20 through Sept. 25 at the school. In celebration of the school’s 25-year anniversary, this year’s events will be set to the theme of Trailblazer Rewind.
Dress up days will be Rewind to 2018 (wear anything that promotes earth friendliness, self-love, etc.) on Sept. 20, Rewind to 2010 – Keeping Up with 2010 (wear any trend of 2010) on Sept. 21, Rewind to 2004 – On Wednesdays We Wear Pink (wear pink) on Sept. 22, Rewind to ‘90s – Battle of the Bands (wear a ‘90s band shirt) on Sept. 23, and Spirit Day ‘90s style (in honor of the school’s 25th anniversary) on Sept. 24.
The parade will be at 6 p.m. Sept. 23 starting from the back parking lot on Ted Houghton, through the neighborhood to Whirlaway, and back through Peter Cooper to the front of the school. The homecoming drumline will perform at 8:30 a.m. Sept. 24 in the school’s rotunda. The homecoming football game against the Eastlake Falcons will be 7 p.m. Sept. 24 at the SISD Student Activities Complex.
The dance with the theme of All That and the ‘90s will begin at 8 p.m. Sept. 25 in the Americas High School courtyard.
Mission Early College High School Homecoming Sept. 20 – 25
The school will host a pep rally Sept. 24 and their dance will be Sept. 25 outside in front of the El Paso Community College – Mission Campus.
Eastlake High School Homecoming Sept. 27 – Oct. 2
Eastlake High School will celebrate Sept. 27 through Oct. 1 at the school. The events will be set to the theme Hollywood Nights.
Dress up days will be Tacky Tourist on Sept. 27, Meme Day on Sept. 28, Movie Character Day on Sept. 29, Stunt Double Day on Sept. 30 and Spirit Day on Oct. 1.
The parade will be at 6 p.m. Sept. 29. The route will begin at Horizon Heights Elementary School on Ryderwood, then turn right on Emerald Falls, then right on Emerald Creek, then right on Emerald Park, and left on Emerald Pass, ending at Eastlake High School.
The football game against the Pebble Hills High School Spartans will be at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 1 at the SISD Student Activities Complex.
The dance will be from 8 p.m. to 12 a.m. Oct. 2 in the Eastlake High School patio.
Montwood High School Homecoming Sept. 27 – Oct. 2
The school’s theme this year is RAMchella. The Rams will host a movie night and a wall decorating contest Sept. 28. The school’s parade and carnival will be Sept. 29. The pep rally will be on Oct. 1. The homecoming football game against Coronado High School will be 4 p.m. Oct. 1 at the SISD Student Activities Complex. The homecoming dance will be Oct. 2.
Socorro High School homecoming Aug. 30 – Sept. 4
Socorro High School celebrated homecoming August 30 through September 4 at the school. The events had a theme of Hollywood Hits Socorro.
Dress up days will be Wild Wild West (Western Day) on Aug. 30, Stunt Double (Twin Day) on Aug. 31, Mean Girls -Wear Pink, Yellow, Blue, Red, Black (NFL Crucial Catch/Cancer Awareness Day) on Sept. 1, Sandlot (Sports Jersey Day) on Sept. 2, and Friday Night Lights (Spirit Mum and Garter Day) on Sept. 3.
Socorro alumni also took a tour of the high school on September 2.
The homecoming parade began at Escontrias Elementary and ended at the Socorro High School football field on September 2nd, and was followed by the pep rally.
The football game against the Ysleta Indians Friday night at the SISD Student Activities Complex, had the Indians edging the Bulldogs 35-34.
The dance with the theme of A Night at the Oscars will be held from 8 to 11:30 p.m. Sept. 4 in the Socorro High School new cafeteria.
