The Socorro Independent School District will have its first-ever Comic Con event for high school students across the district from 5-7 p.m. Dec. 6 at the District Service Center.
The districtwide event aims to streamline non-traditional forms of literature and storytelling into curriculum while offering support to students who are already involved in developing and creating their own comic books and graphic novels.
The unique event is another way to promote reading, writing and to encourage students to refine their creativity in their learning.
The event will feature guest speaker and illustrator Raul Gonzalez III. Participants can enjoy a comic artist competition, games, prizes and more. Comic Con is open to all SISD high school students. Limited tickets are available.
To register to compete, students can visit the district website.
