The second annual Career Awareness Conference will provide fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth graders with the educational opportunities that are available to them while in high school and stress the importance of their success within the core academics areas so they can develop solid reading, writing and math skills.
Students will learn about the exciting opportunities available at SISD, such as the Career and Technical Education program, advanced academic courses, dual credit courses, academies/magnet programs and early college high schools. SISD high school students who are currently involved in these classes, will present sessions to students and parents about the various programs.
In addition, business and industry partners will participate in the program to present on high-need and high-demand jobs and careers. They will share information about the education and skills necessary for those careers.
