Spirit of Giving Campaign Update: GECU Drop-Off Deadline December 7

While the El Paso Community Foundation’s 30th annual Spirit of Giving campaign is in full swing, there are some important deadlines coming up that gift-givers need to be aware of.

Spirit of Giving trees are located at Cielo Vista Mall, Sunland Park Mall, and five GECU/GECU Investment & Trust Services locations — Viscount and Airway; Rojas and Zaragoza; Vista del Sol and Yarbrough; Dyer and Diana; and Resler and Helen of Troy.

The trees are adorned with snowflake tags that represent the stories of people — children, elderly, and disabled — in need. Pick a tag, buy a gift, wrap it with the tag, and return it to the Spirit of Giving location where it was purchased.

More than 57,000 gifts have been given through this uniquely El Paso effort, which started in 1989.

The drop-off deadlines are:

• GECU/GECU Investment & Trust Services locations — Friday, December 7
• Cielo Vista Mall — Wednesday, December 19
• Sunland Park Mall — Thursday, December 20

Community members can also go to the virtual tree at spiritofgiving.epcf.org, click the tag of the story that moves them and pay for the gift. The El Paso Community Foundation will ensure that it is delivered.

Or print the tag, purchase the gift, wrap it and deliver it, with the tag, to our office at 333 North Oregon Street on the 2nd Floor. Office hours are 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.

The deadline to drop off gifts at Community Foundation’s office is Monday, December 17.

The El Paso Community Foundation’s Spirit of Giving is sponsored by Cielo Vista Mall/Simon Malls, Sunland Park Mall, GECU/GECU Investment & Trust Services, KTSM 9 and iHeartRadio of El Paso
