Crews from Paso del Norte Trackworks will move closures on Kansas Street and Stanton Street northward as they continue work on utility relocation and storm drain replacement related to the El Paso Streetcar Project, the Camino Real Regional Mobility Authority (CRRMA) announced Thursday.
Stanton Street will be closed to thru traffic between Blanchard Avenue and Boston Avenue beginning on Monday, June 6, 2016. University Avenue will remain closed between Kansas Street and Mesa Street. Kerbey Avenue will remain open to east-west traffic.
The intersection of Stanton Street and Hague Road is scheduled to re-open at this time.
Kansas Street remains closed to thru traffic between Paisano Drive and Father Rahm Avenue until mid-August as crews continue working on storm drains there.
Kansas Street is scheduled to thru traffic between First Avenue and Paisano Drive on Thursday, June 9, 2016. Lane restrictions will be in place on Kansas Street between Overland Avenue and First Avenue.
The closure is necessary to allow crews to work on storm drains along Kansas Street and is expected to last approximately two weeks.
Franklin Avenue remains closed to all traffic east of Stanton Street. Stanton Street remains be reduced to one lane at Franklin. These closures are scheduled to last for approximately one more week.
Motorists who usually pass through the Franklin/Stanton intersection to access Interstate 10 eastbound should consider using Wyoming Avenue as an alternate route.
When that work is complete, Stanton Street will be completely closed between Franklin Avenue and Missouri Avenue. Franklin Avenue will be reduced to one lane. These closures will last for about a month.
Kansas Street remains closed between Paisano Drive and Father Rahm Avenue. East-west cross streets are also closed at Kansas Street. Meanwhile, Father Rahm Avenue remains closed to traffic between Santa Fe Street and Kansas Street. North-south cross streets remain open.
