Suicide Squad Most Wanted Deadshot and Katana
Jack and Troy from ZiaComics.com talk about the upcoming comic book, Suicide Squad Most Wanted: Deadshot and Katana.
The six-issue mini-series will showcase the popular characters of Deadshot and Katana, who both are members of the Suicide Squad in the upcoming Suicide Squad movie.
If you don’t know the story behind Suicide Squad, pull up a chair. Â Without getting long-winded about it, they are a group of really bad (or good depending on your viewpoint) villains. Â They are a super secret group run by a government group called ARGUS and lead by a woman named Amanda Waller. The government refers to this group as Task Force X, but the members call themselves Suicide Squad.
Before you ask, yes it is the same ARGUS and Amanda Waller you see on the hit TV show Arrow. Â If the movie does well we may be some crossover potential. Â They have hinted at the Suicide Squad on Arrow a few times already.
Why would these villains agree to go on these missions? Â The government allows them to work off their bad deeds and earn freedom if they complete enough successful missions. Why don’t they just run away during a mission you ask? Â Good question. Â The villains all have miniature bombs implanted in them that ARGUS can detonate if they try to run or stop following orders. Â The villains are all in prison for different reasons. Their motivations for joining the Suicide Squad are varied as well.
Now that you have the short and quick version of their history we can jump back into the comic book. DC Entertainment is banking on Suicide Squad Most Wanted: Deadshot and Katana doing well with the release of the big screen version in August.
Suicide Squad Most Wanted, will be a double-sized series showcasing two members of the all-villain super-team. The six-issue mini-series will run alongside the current New Suicide Squad monthly comic book and feature two full-length stories per issue focusing on Deadshot and Katana.
Creators on the series will be Brian Buccellato and Viktor Bogdanovic on the Deadshot story (which sees the assassin get a new contract on Lex Luthor) and Mike W. Barr and Diogenes Neves on Katana (who is forced to choose between self-preservation and defending a group of innocent civilians).
If you plan on seeing the movie we highly recommend reading this comic book series first. Â You will be able to amaze your non-comic book friends with your knowledge of the less mainstream characters. Â As a bonus you will earn some street cred with all your nerdy (a.k.a cool) comic book friends.
