The Sun Bowl Association and El Paso LIVE have announced that the Sun Bowl Fan Fiesta Presented by El Paso LIVE that was scheduled for Dec. 30, 2021 at the El Paso Convention Center from 3-8 p.m. (MT) has been cancelled.
With neither of the school bands and spirit squads able to show up and some vendors having to pullout, the committees have decided to call off the 2021 Tony the Tiger Fan Fiesta.
“This is the way things in the world are going, unfortunately,” said Executive Director Bernie Olivas. “With the bands and the cheer squads being the highlight of the event and keeping safety in mind, as this is an indoor event, we thought it’d be best to cancel for this year. We hope everyone remains safe and makes it out to the Big Game on December 31st at 10 a.m.”
The Sun Bowl Fan Fiesta will return next year.
The 88th Annual Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl is set for 10 a.m. (MT) on Friday, Dec. 31, 2021 at Sun Bowl Stadium with Washington State taking on Central Michigan.
