Sun Metro Offers Free Ride to Vote on Election Day

On Friday, Sun Metro officials announced they will offer complimentary bus rides to the polls on Election Day.

Passengers who show a valid form of voter identification can ride Sun Metro and Lift services on Tuesday, November 6 free, all day.

Sun Metro officials say that offering free rides “increases access to poll locations and allows citizens the opportunity to cast their votes during the midterm elections.”

Registered Lift Paratransit customers must schedule their trip in accordance with Sun Metro & Lift policies and procedures.

Any form of voter identification should be presented upon boarding. Valid forms include:

  • Texas Driver’s license
  • Texas Election ID Certificate
  • Texas Handgun License
  • U.S. Citizenship certificate with photo
  • U.S. Military ID
  • U.S. Passport
  • A government document with name and address of the voter
