Officials with the Sundt Foundation announced the award of a total of $10,000 to three El Paso nonprofits during its current round of giving.
“Each of these three organizations is making a positive impact on our El Paso community,” said Joseph Riccillo, the Sundt Foundation’s Vice President.
“We are grateful to see our community come together at such a crucial time to ensure those in need are getting the resources and support they deserve.”
The Foundation awards quarterly grants to El Paso-area charities that support disadvantaged children and families. Nonprofits are selected through an application process and reviewed by a committee of local Sundt employee-owners.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of El Paso received $2,500 to support youth living under the poverty line by providing a mentor that assists with educational, emotional and mental support.
Hospice of El Paso, which received $5,000, provides care and support to low-income and unfunded patients.
The Salvation Army of El Paso, Inc., received $2,500 to support their efforts in assisting the homeless population by providing shelter, food, clothing and necessary supplies. The grant will also help fund their cleaning efforts to keep the shelter safe and slow the spread of COVID-19.
To date, the Foundation has awarded more than $11 million in donations.
The Sundt Foundation was established in 1999 as a way for employee-owners to give back to the communities in which they live and work. The organization is funded primarily by contributions from Sundt employees, which are matched by the company.
