Native El Pasoan and young author, Thomas “Tommy” Dominguez III, released his first book titled A Fighter’s Will this fall.
“The reason I write is because it allows me to tell the stories I want, the way I want to tell them,” said Dominguez, “The main thing I want the readers to pick up from the book is to have a passionate will in whatever they want to do.”
Tommy, a sixteen-year-old student at Faith Christian Academy, has always been inspired and influenced by anime, which is hand-drawn and computer animation originating from or associated with Japan. The book includes a cover design by his sister, Mia Ilani Dominguez.
A Fighter’s Will features Bryson, the main character, in a coming of age story geared for high school students. Tommy wrote about Bryson as a reflection of his own past and current self in search of passion.
Dominguez hopes that young people are touched by the story of Bryson, especially those who like stories from Shounen Jump and those who appreciate martial arts.
Aside from writing, his hobbies are working out, watching anime, reading and traveling. He loves to gain new experiences wherever he goes or whatever he does, e then uses these experiences to help him write. He hopes to continue writing and to keep improving as an author and person.
Dorrance Publishing Co. in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania published the book.
