GOLF Magazine: Butterfield Trail Golf Club Among “Top 5 Courses near Airports in US”

Butterfield Trail Golf Club continues to be recognized for its excellence as one of the best courses to play in Texas and was recently listed by GOLF Magazine on their list of the “Top 5 Courses in US near Airports.”

“We are excited and proud to be mentioned in this list by GOLF Magazine” said KemperSports General Manager Tim Krebs “Our team at Butterfield Trail continues working hard to provide the best golf experience in El Paso and we look forward to another great year in 2019.”

GOLF.com is the digital version of GOLF Magazine and is a leading source of golf course rankings and ratings, equipment reviews, golf instruction, and PGA Tour, LPGA Tour and Web.com Tour news.

“Butterfield Trail Golf Club continues to be ranked among the best golf courses and we couldn’t be more proud of their achievements,” said Monica Lombraña, Managing Director of Aviation and International Bridges, at El Paso International Airport. “They are truly an exceptional recreational attraction for El Paso.”

Butterfield Trail Golf Club was established in the summer of 2007 by city leaders who were determined to create an award-winning, world-class golf course.

Owned by El Paso International Airport and designed by famed golf course architect Tom Fazio, Butterfield Trail has received numerous accolades including being named the #3 municipal course in America by Golfweek magazine 2009-2017. The 18-hole, par 72, daily fee golf course is highlighted by natural sand dunes and native flora and fauna.

MDA, ERA Buyers Sellers, and Edward Homes Partner for Golf Tournament

The Muscular Dystrophy Association of El Paso and members of ERA Buyers Sellers and Edwards Homes will be hosting a golf tournament on September 25th to benefit families in west Texas and southern New Mexico living with neuromuscular diseases.

“We are excited to open our club to the community to aid in achieving their fund raising goals, which benefit our local area and makes a positive impact on the lives of so many,” said Natalie Sypher, Director of Sales & Marketing at Butterfield Trail.

Sypher adds, “Every year our employees partner with tournament directors, golfers, volunteers, and event sponsors to really showcase Butterfield Trail’s commitment to ‘Building Relationships and Enriching Lives.”

Proceeds from the event will help provide comprehensive health care and support services, advocacy, and education about Muscular Dystrophy as well as fund worldwide research.

The four-person team, shot gun tournament will begin with registration at 9:00 am in the clubhouse.  A 10:00am shotgun start is scheduled.   Interested participants may pre-register online or the day of the event.

Registration costs are $150 per player or $600 per team of four and include a golf cart, range fee, unlimited range balls, brunch, and dinner.

June Marks Butterfield Trail Golf Club’s 10th Anniversary

Butterfield Trail Golf Club will celebrate its ten year anniversary with  a month-long celebration staring on June 1st, with activities for all ages and skill levels. Butterfield Trail Golf Club was designed as an economic development initiative by the El Paso International Airport and is the only Tom Fazio  premium design course in all of Texas.

“As avid golfers ourselves, we are passionate about the game of golf,” said general manager, Tim Krebs. “#PDMonth gives us the opportunity to share our love of the game and hopefully introduce the game to a generation of non-golfers here in El Paso.”

Butterfield Trail has been nationally recognized since its inception, notably being named to Golfweek’s “Best Courses You Can Play” every year since 2009 and winning national awards for exceptional customer service by the National Golf Foundation.

Over the past ten years, Butterfield Trail has made an impact on more than just the golf experience of local El Pasoans – over $2 million has been raised for local charities through golf tournaments held at the facility and over 150 couples have celebrated their nuptials.

In additional to their anniversary celebration, Butterfield Trail Golf Club, managed by KemperSports, will be hosting their fourth annual Player Development Month during the month of June.

The month-long celebration of golf is built to introduce and re-introduce golfers to the sport. For the entire month of June, Butterfield Trail will offer free ten-minute lessons, free short game clinics, family golf nights, driving range socials, a chance to win $10,000 cash, and more.
