City breaks ground for new ‘Lost Kingdom’ Water Park in Central El Paso

As cheerleaders from Burges performed, officials with the City of El Paso broke ground Thursday on the city’s newest waterpark.

City officials say the Lost Kingdom will offer the community a “unique water experience based on its Mayan getaway setting that fuels the imagination while offering exhilaration and rejuvenation to visitors.”

When complete, the park will feature an entry courtyard that echoes Mayan ruins, complete with replica ancient drawings to greet guests.

Additional Mayan touches will  be water slides themed like legendary snakes, a waterfall spilling over a rocky ravine, and a Mayan calendar painted on the bottom of the dive pool.

Waterpark amenities will include: slides, a lazy river, toddler pool, climbing wall, a lap pool, cabanas, concessions and much more to appeal to people of all ages and abilities.

The project is one of several neighborhood waterparks programmed for the community and is part of the City of El Paso’s commitment to enhance our quality of life through the creation of recreational, cultural and educational environments.

The park is located adjacent to Ross Middle school, located at  6101 Hughey Circle.
