UTEP Schedules Activities to Honor César Chávez

The University of Texas at El Paso’s Chicano Studies Program has scheduled several activities on campus to celebrate renowned labor leader and civil rights advocate César Chávez in March and April 2018.

“The events are organized to give UTEP’s community and alumni the chance to honor Chávez, who rose to fame in the 1960s as the co-founder of the National Farm Workers Association, and to maintain a high level of awareness about farmworkers and their relevance to the American economy,” said Dennis Bixler-Marquez, Ph.D., professor and director of UTEP’s Chicano Studies Program.

The listed screenings, performances and presentations on campus are free and sponsored by the program unless noted otherwise.
