MCAD Announces New Grant Program for Filmmakers

The City of El Paso Museums and Cultural Affairs Departments (MCAD) announced on Tuesday a new funding program for local filmmakers to create development opportunities for locally directed and produced films.

“The City of El Paso has a strong commitment to supporting and funding projects from our arts community. The filmmaker grant will offer new opportunities for filmmakers to complete new projects and start to develop El Paso as a filmmaking hub,” said Museums and Cultural Affairs Department Director Tracey Jerome.

The Local Filmmakers Program (LFP) was funded as part of the City’s FY 18 budget process. It will provide financial support for new, original film projects by El Paso filmmakers. The LFP will become part of MCAD’s Cultural Funding Program.

Local filmmakers interested in applying for funding through this program will be required to attend a mandatory orientation session in order to apply.

MCAD will host two applicant orientation sessions on at 9 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. on April 5 at the El Paso Museum of History, 510 N. Santa Fe.

For more information and a complete schedule of orientation sessions, visit the Arts Funding tab, to apply – Click Here
