Video Movie Review – TNTM: Deadpool 2

If you liked the first Deadpool movie, you will love the sequel. Deadpool 2 was much more Deadpool being like his character in the comic books. There is a lot of silly humor and fourth wall breaking. We both highly recommend you watching Deadpool 2.

You don’t have to take our word for it. We asked other movie-goers their thoughts on the movie and there was no negative feedback. We even got input from Deadpool himself.

What do you think about Deadpool 2? Let us know in the comments below.

Video+Story – TNTM: Deadpool 2 Movie Discussion

The first Deadpool movie was a big success. They were able to convince Twentieth Century Fox to let them run with an R rating. This allowed them to stay true to the character of Deadpool. What they got in return was a great comic book movie.

Deadpool 2 is addressing on issue that Wade Wilson broke the fourth wall with in the first movie, more comic book characters. Deadpool 2 has the beginnings of X-Force. We will be introduced to Cable, Domino, Zeitgeist, Bedlam, and Shatterstar. We will also see some familiar faces from the first movie like Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Weasel, Vanessa, Blind Al, Colossus, and Dopinder.

The trailers for the movie so far look like they capture the irreverent humor commonly associated with Deadpool. With more superhero characters to play off, there should be no shortage of good one-liners.

Deadpool 2 has us all giddy to see Wade Wilson back on the big screen. Even though he is a clown in his personal interactions with others, you can’t forget he is also a world class assassin. There should be a lot of great action scenes in Deadpool 2.

At the very least, Deadpool 2 will bring some characters to the big screen we may not have seen otherwise. Anytime we can expand the superhero movie line-up, we are all for it.

Let us know what you think about Deadpool. Do you like a humorous anti-hero type? Do you think it’s funny when he breaks the fourth wall? Tell us about it in the comments.

Celebrate the life and legacy of the visionary and singular musical force that was Prince. PURPLE RAIN is the semi-autobiographical tale of The Kid, a Minneapolis musician navigating the club scene while dealing with a romantic rival and a difficult family life. It’s a showcase for the Purple One’s otherworldly musical, visual and sartorial stylings, and introduced the world to the glory of “When Doves Cry,” “Let’s Go Crazy,” and of course, “Purple Rain.” We’ll be enjoying these songs with glowsticks, streamers and tambourines that are included with your ticket!

Fist City: THE WARRIORS

Friday, May 4 – 10 p.m.

“CAN YOU DIG IT?!” Preposterously themed street gangs, electrifying synths, raging fisticuffs and a lean, mean, machismo story… yup, THE WARRIORS has it all and then some. Cyrus is the toughest, baddest all-round coolest gang leader around and he’s assembled all of the gangs in New York City to unify them.

But when Cyrus ends up dead, The Warriors take the wrap and every face-painted, spiked bat-carrying, homicidal maniac in the city is out to kill them as they try to make their way home through the gritty labyrinth of late ‘70s Manhattan. Director Walter Hill makes the Big Apple sweat with toughness, capturing the filthiness of urban decay to turn them into a spectacularly violent playground of gangland insanity that’s never been topped since.

¡THREE AMIGOS! Movie Party

Friday, May 4 – 7:30 p.m.

These three amigos, played memorably by Steve Martin, Chevy Chase and Martin Short, are down on their luck and up to their necks in señoritas, margaritas, banditos and bullets. As they attempt to act their way out of a serious situation, you can enjoy all your favorite lines, play along with a plethora of props and eat along with a delicious special menu. Throw on your best mariachi outfit, prepare your singing voice for “My Little Buttercup” and practice your birdcalls for the ¡THE THREE AMIGOS! Movie Party.

BUNGO STRAY DOGS: BAD APPLE

Saturday, May 5   – 1 p.m.

Sunday, May 6 – 1 p.m.

The Armed Detective Agency is back on the case in BUNGO STRAY DOGS: BAD APPLE. Six years have passed since the bloodbath known as the Dragon’s Head Rush conflict. Over 500 people with supernatural powers have been found dead — presumably by suicide. The Armed Detective Agency is tasked with the mission to capture Shibusawa Tatsuhiko, the mysterious special ability user thought to be involved.

But when Osamu Dazai disappears, the “Demon” Fyodor begins showing his shadow. Those with supernatural powers are threatened by an onslaught of unprecedentedly powerful enemies, and the city of Yokohama begins falling into a terrifying nightmare.

HOWL’S MOVING CASTLE (subtitled)

Sunday, May 6 – 4:15 p.m.

Part of our special programming series “Studio Ghibli: Dispatches from the Dream Factory,” director Hayao Miyazaki’s HOWL’S MOVING CASTLE is a truly special film. In a land on the brink of war, Sophie, a young hat maker is transformed into a ninety-year-old woman by a vengeful witch. Her only chance at regaining her youth is with the help of a fire demon who wants to escape the wizard he is bound to. So begins Sophie’s journey through the warring nations, where she crosses paths with kings, sorcerers, a living scarecrow, and, of course, a moving castle.

MOULIN ROUGE Movie Party

Thursday, May 10 – 7:30 p.m.

If you’re a true romantic, you already know the story: Christian (Ewan McGregor) moves to Paris to pursue a Bohemian lifestyle and then of course falls into a doomed love affair with Satine (Nicole Kidman), the most beautiful girl at the Moulin Rouge. But until you’ve seen the movie and sung the songs and learned that lesson in a movie theater with 200 other heart-swept people, you’ll never really know what it’s like to be in love.

As always, we’ll have props for some special interaction, including blinking rings for “Diamonds Are a Girl’s Best Friend” and green glow sticks for the Green Fairy. And start warming up your leg muscles now, because we’re kicking off this whole shebang with a Can-Can dance contest! Your gift is your song, so come give it all you’ve got at the MOULIN ROUGE Movie Party.

BIG TROUBLE IN LITTLE CHINA Movie Party

Saturday, May 12 – 10 p.m.

What could possibly make this slamming, banging, action-adventure-comedy thrill ride even better? Living the adventure along with Jack Burton. And you’ll do just that at these rampagingly interactive shows with cap guns, glow sticks, and magic rings all included in your ticket. Kurt Russell plays two-fisted trucker Jack Burton: a gambling, beer-chugging schmoe whose macho heroics land him in big trouble with supernatural kung-fu warriors.

The lightning and lazerbeams fly through the streets of San Francisco as Jack and his fellow lowbrow adventurers face off against rampaging maniacs, elemental demigods, mythical beings and even prehistoric subterranean monstrosities. Two words: Be there.

PRINCESS MONONOKE (subtitled)

Sunday, May 13 – 2:30 p.m.

Part of our special programming series “Studio Ghibli: Dispatches from the Dream Factory,” PRINCESS MONONOKE is full of myth, magic, creation and destruction. It stands as one of director Hayao Miyazaki’s crowning achievements. The epic struggle of nature against human industry is shown here through the eyes of a young man caught up in the middle.

The gods of the forest are just trying to protect their home. The humans invading the woods are just looking for a little break and poor Ashitaka is just trying to figure out what is going on and why he’s become involved.

Champagne Cinema: CAN’T HARDLY WAIT

Tuesday, May 15 – 7:30 p.m.

CAN’T HARDLY WAIT is the high school party movie of the ‘90s, and it delivers on everything you would expect from this genre: a lovesick “nerd” unbelievably played by a totally adorable actor; a smart and sassy indie chick who tells it like it is; a trifecta of nerds who make lots of X-Files references; twenty different party montages paired with ‘90s alt-rock (yes!); and, of course, major comic relief in the form of Special K.

So come raise a fancy glass or two with us as we pay tribute to the definitive movie about drinking cheap beer out of plastic cups. (BTW, aren’t you glad you’re an adult now?) Oh, and extra credit if you bring out your own yearbooks for a little sharing time before the movie begins, ‘cos like Melissa Joan Hart says, “THESE ARE MEMORIES FROZEN IN TIME, PEOPLE!”

 DEADPOOL 2 – Opening Thursday, May 17

The Merc with a Mouth is back. Ryan Reynolds returns as everyone’s favorite wise-cracking, red-suited Marvel anti-hero in DEADPOOL 2. This time out, Deadpool has some new help. New additions to the cast include Josh Brolin as time-traveling mutant soldier Cable; Zazie Beetz as luck-controlling mutant Domino; Terry Crews as Bedlam; and HUNT FOR THE WILDERPEOPLE’s breakout star Julian Dennison.

From the director of ATOMIC BLONDE comes a new blast of R-rated laughs and thrills. Faces will be punched, jokes will be made, and fourth walls will be broken, in what promises to be the strangest, funniest superhero movie this side of … well, the first DEADPOOL.

DEADPOOL Double Feature

May 17 – 4:30 p.m.

Speaking of the first DEADPOOL, if you miss all the heartwarming charm and life-affirming romance form the first go-round or just want to re-live all the laughs and the love (so much love!) on the big screen again before diving into the superhero sequel of your soft pastel-colored dreams, you’re in luck! Here’s your chance to experience DEADPOOL and DEADPOOL 2 end-to-end for one glorious night only.

Ryan Reynolds stars as Wade Wilson, a hapless Joe who undergoes an experiment that leaves him with a warped appearance, wicked sense of humor and personal vendetta against the scientist who disfigured him. It takes all three, along with the help of some X-Men, to exact his revenge… and, boy, it’s a fun ride getting there. See you there, with a chimichanga in hand.

Video Vortex: VACATION OF TERROR 2: DIABOLICAL BIRTHDAY

Friday, May 18 – 10 p.m.

On the road between POLTERGEIST and TROLL 2, there is: VACATION OF TERROR 2: DIABOLICAL BIRTHDAY! Pop singer Tatiana performs a song called “Chicos!” at her sister’s Halloween-themed birthday party, even though it’s the middle of summer. This compels a creepy Cabbage Patch Kid to transform into a raging Troll that’s on a quest to regain stolen coins from the ladies’ dad. WHAT??

THE BIG LEBOWSKI Movie Party

Saturday, May 19 – 10 p.m.

Come celebrate two decades of The Dude at this special 20th Anniversary screening. There’s no one quite like him, and we’re giving you the chance to abide with The Dude (Jeff Bridges) at THE BIG LEBOWSKI Movie Party. We’ll be handing out inflatable crowbars so you can show Larry what happens when you … well, you know.

Stand against aggression with The Dude, and yell, “Over the line!” with Walter (John Goodman). You can even enjoy The Dude’s favorite recreation (no, not weed) with a giant-sized bowling game on stage before the show.

MY NEIGHBOR TOTORO

Sunday, May 20 – 4:45 p.m.

Check out this special 30th anniversary screening of MY NEIGHBOR TOTORO, part of our special programming series “Studio Ghibli: Dispatches from the Dream Factory.” Here is a children’s film made for the world we should live in, rather than the one we occupy. A film with no villains. No fight scenes. No evil adults. No fighting between the two kids. No scary monsters. No darkness before the dawn. A world that is benign. A world where if you meet a strange towering creature in the forest, you curl up on its tummy and have a nap. MY NEIGHBOR TOTORO has become one of the most beloved of all family films without ever having been much promoted or advertised.

Fist City: BAD BOYS II

Tuesday, May 22 – 7:30 p.m.

Few directors can do excess like Michael Bay, and BAD BOYS II piles it on so high, you get queasy with glee. Every time you think it isn’t about to go that far, it goes further. When a movie starts with Will Smith gloriously busting out of a Ku Klux Klan robe brandishing two guns, the rest of that 147 minute run time can’t let up. And it doesn’t.

With some scenes reaching Hong Kong action movie levels of chaos and destruction, our heroes, Miami detectives Marcus Burnett (Martin Lawrence) and Mike Lowrey (Will Smith) set out to take down drug lords while also keeping their life-long friendship tight.

SOLO: A Star Wars Story – Opening Thursday, May 24

The saga from “a galaxy far, far away,” continues with SOLO: A STAR WARS STORY. Everyone knows that Han shot first, but do you know how he first met his sidekick Chewbacca or how he first got into the captain’s chair of the Millennium Falcon? Those questions and more will be answered in the second stand-alone movie in the beloved STAR WARS franchise.

Two-time Academy Award winner Ron Howard directs the cast, featuring Alden Ehrenreich as a young Han Solo and Donald Glover as his future frien-emy Lando Calrissian.

MONTY PYTHON AND THE HOLY GRAIL Movie Party

Thursday, May 31 – 7:30 p.m.

Greetings old women it is I, Arthur, your king! That’s right, one of the greatest and most quotable movies of all time is getting the quote-along treatment and you can be there for all its sword fighting, coconut clomping glory. We’ll have swords for everyone, coconut halves for you to bring your imaginary horses to life and a test of will, dexterity and might prior to the show to recruit some brave knights to our cause (don’t go second guessing your favorite colors now).

TNTM: Marvel Comics Deadpool vs Punisher

By now everyone knows who Deadpool is due to the success of his movie. Even the most non-nerdy people have at least heard the name and know he is a quirky comic book character. Judging by the box office, Wade Wilson is a very popular guy.

Thanks to Daredevil season 2 on Netflix, the Punisher is now a very well known character. His penchant for dispensing of evil people has been a standard in all his comic appearances.

The Deadpool vs Punisher title promises to be the Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup of the comic book world… two great tastes that go great together. What we don’t understand is why did it take so long to put these guys together?

The plot

deadpool-vs-punisher-coverThe Punisher (Frank Castle) discovers a character known as the Bank. The Bank is the accountant to most of the high level criminals in the Marvel Universe. He is the one that sets up off shore accounts and other schemes to keep their money safe from being seized by the government. That makes him a bad guy in the Punisher’s eyes. True to character, he sets out to neutralize the Bank.

One small obstacle in the Punisher’s path is Deadpool. The Bank just happens to be a very old friend of Deadpool’s from before he was in the Weapon X program. Deadpool is very loyal to his friends and really doesn’t want to see the Punisher kill the Bank.

This is slated to be a 5 issue limited series. Who do you think will come out on top in this battle? Give us your ideas on this in the comments section below.

Both men, however, are among the deadliest on the planet. When they find themselves in disagreement over the criminal known as The Bank, they’re in for one of the most brutal fights of their lives! Can Frank kill Wade over and over without ever dying once himself? Or will Wade bug him until he welcomes death?

TNTM: Deadpool is at war with his wife

Deadpool got married? Yes, Wade Wilson actually tied the knot.  Who would say “I do” to Deadpool?  How about a succubus named Shiklah.  Long ago Shiklah and her family ruled over the monster world.

Vampires sought to overthrow them by starting a war that lasted over a century.  Shiklah’s father was distraught over his kingdom falling and the seeming deaths of his sons.  He decided to seal Shiklah away in a coffin until either the war ran its course or until she was to be wed.

Fast forward to present time.  Deadpool is hired by Dracula to bring Shiklah to him. He plans to marry her so he can take over her old lands and unite the monster world under his rule. Deadpool travels to the Arabian Peninsula and rescues Shiklah (sealed in a coffin) from a group of teleporting vampires could destroy it. Deadpool brought the coffin to Greece where he got into a fight with the Minotaur. As a result of the fight the coffin shattered and Shiklah was awakened along with her pet, Bug.

Shiklah repaid Deadpool’s service by attempting to absorb his life force by kissing him.  She failed due to Deadpool’s healing factor. In their journey they have lots of confrontations.  They end up fighting a Templar ghost, Blade, Hydra, and A.I.M. just to name a few.

During this trip they start to have feelings for each other. Once Shiklah and Deadpool returned to New York City they were married in a ceremony officiated by Nightcrawler.

The Marriage of Deadpool occurred in Deadpool #27.  That cover set a Guinness World Record for most comic characters on a single issue cover. Among the characters shown on the cover were popular heroes like Captain America, Thor, Hulk, Spider-man, the Fantastic Four, and the X-Men.

There were also some lesser known ones like Doop and Squirrel Girl.  Deadpool #27’s wraparound cover features 232 Marvel characters.  Guinness determined that 224 of those characters were “publicly familiar enough to qualify for the recognition”.

Deadpool and Shiklah on the outs

Less than two years after they were married, Deadpool and Shiklah are going to war in a new six-part crossover titled Deadpool: Til Death Do Us. The story-line will have two issues (each) of Deadpool, Spider-Man/Deadpool, and Deadpool & the Mercs For Money in March and April 2017.  In Deadpool: Til Death Do Us, Shiklah is declares war on humanity forcing Deadpool to choose sides.

“In the first chapter of this we see the encroachment on the Monster Metropolis from above, from the surface world. Humans and monsters are not great neighbors. At the end of a long series of incidents of poor behavior on both sides, Shiklah decides she’s had enough,” said Deadpool writer Gerry Duggan.

“Even though she is coming to terms with Deadpool not being a great husband, she is also beholden to her people, so this is very much an act of preservation in her mind for her kingdom. It also will force Deadpool to make some choices. Are you with the soft pink surface dwellers or are you with your wife and her citizens back down below?”

“Til Death Do Us…” begins in Deadpool #28 in March 2017.

TNTM: Presidents in the comics – Election Day Special

It’s election time again. This presidential race is turning into a very hotly contested one.  Accusations and name calling are being thrown about like dirty socks in a freshman dorm room.

The political banter from the mindless pundits has pitted neighbor against neighbor and friend against friend.  Democrats and Republicans are fighting more than Marvel and DC fans.

With all this animosity in the air I decided to interject a little levity on the subject.  Presidents have made appearances in comic books for a long time.  Some are just brief glimpses of the POTUS and some are given plot lines.  I have compiled a small list of the most notable Presidential appearances in the comics.

This is in NO way a complete listing.  It would take much more than this small article space to list them all.  Feel free to add any POTUS comic book appearances that aren’t on this list in the comments section.

Richard Nixon

The_Comedian_party_charmer

Richard Nixon appeared in Alan Moore & Dave Gibbon’s Watchmen.  In 1985 the country is edging toward World War III with the Soviet Union and Nixon is still president. Let me explain how this happened for those who haven’t read Watchmen (please read the book, don’t watch the movie.  The movie left a lot out).

Watchmen depicts an alternate history where superheroes emerged in the 1940s and 1960s.  Their presence changed history so that the United States won the Vietnam War thanks to the involvement of Dr. Manhattan.  Another important change is the Watergate scandal was never exposed. It is hinted that the Comedian killed Woodard and Bernstein and also assassinated JFK. Term limits are cast aside and Nixon is still in the Oval Office.

It was also implied that President Nixon was a hooded mastermind, pulling the strings behind a massive plot for a super villain group called The Secret Empire in Captain America comics.  You never see his face or hear his name muttered, but it is undeniably him.

NixonCap

Bill Clinton

Clinton

In the early ’90s, then-new President Bill Clinton endorsed Hank Henshaw (The Hank Henshaw that appears in the Supergirl TV show was retconned), also known as the Cyborg Superman, as the “real deal”. Henshaw saved Clinton from a terrorist assassination attempt.

To show his gratitude, Clinton granted the villain a photo op and the U.S. Government’s stamp of approval.  Shortly thereafter Henshaw would turn out to be a homicidal maniac who killed 7 million Americans in a terrorist attack that was impressive even by DC Universe standards.

Clinton

President Clinton also exiled Captain America from U.S. soil and stripped him of his name and title after Cap was fromed for an attack on a U.S. military base.  This happened during the “Man Without a Country” storyline by Mark Waid and Ron Garney.

George W. Bush

George Dubya was threatened by the Punisher.  Frank Castle broke into his office and made some not-so-subtle threats to the drunk and nearly-incoherent President.

Savage DragonSavage Dragon

Image Comics Savage Dragon ran in the Presidential election in 2004 against George W. Bush and John Kerry.  The run was actually organized by a corrupt politician looking to wreak havoc.

During that election Savage Dragon took  a swing at Imposter, a super villain who had taken Bush’s place, during a public event.

Initiative-bush

George W. Bush was clearly present for the concluding pages of Civil War #1. He presided over the meeting wherein Iron Man, Reed Richards, and Yellowjacket promised to handle Captain America.

Franklin Delano Roosevelt

Captain-America-and-FDR

FDR has been retroactively spun into playing key roles in the creation of both the Justice Society of America and the All-Star Squadron in DC Comics. It was Roosevelt who first summoned Flash and Green Lantern in 1940 when he was informed that Hitler had acquired the Spear of Destiny.

Realizing war in Europe was inevitable, Roosevelt suggested the heroes remain together to protect the home front during the war.  FDR was the guy who gave Captain America his round shield, replacing his triangular version. The two met a few times over the years, too.

Deadpool & the Dead Presidents

Roosevelt

A notable inclusion is the Deadpool “Dead Presidents” story arc.  In this story, a former S.H.I.E.L.D. agent resurrects every dead president from George Washington to Ronald Reagan.

The reanimated Presidents are super-powered and are portrayed with their various strengths and weaknesses (It’s a Deadpool comic, what did you expect?).  The zombies unexpectedly want to destroy America.

It’s up to Deadpool, who’s got the reputation, skills, and plausible deniability – along with being Canadian – to stop the com-monsters in chief.  There is something strangely satisfying about seeing the Teddy Roosevelt zombie wandering around the zoo looking for a fist-fight.

These are but a few of the POTUS appearances in comics.  The President has been everything from a brief glimpse on the page, to a quick punchline, to full blown plot device.  These are just some of the POTUS appearances I remember off the top of my head.  Please share your favorite President in comics moments in the comments section below.

TNTM: Penn Jillette to write SPIDER-MAN/DEADPOOL

Penn Jillette to write SPIDER-MAN/DEADPOOL issue #11

Penn JillettePenn & Teller are American magicians and entertainers who have performed together since the late 1970s. Their ongoing act combines elements of comedy with magic. They are currently headliners in Las Vegas at The Rio. Penn Jillette serves as the act’s orator and raconteur. Teller does not speak while performing. He communicates through mime and nonverbals.

Famed magician, comedian, and author Penn Jillette will be writing a guest issue of Spider-Man/Deadpool, as recently appeared in the latest episode of the the This Week In Marvel podcast. Jillette appeared on the podcast and talked about the issue which will feature himself and long-time partner Teller teaming up with Spider-Man and Deadpool. Scott Koblish will draw the issue.

Penn’s reaction

“I had to mull it over for like two or three seconds,” Jillette joked on the podcast. “I mean, what book could be more exciting?  Of all the characters in comic books it doesn’t get better than Deadpool and Spider-Man. It’s a dream come true for a lot of things.”  Penn joked about signing over the rights to his own likeness to ensure that he remains a mainstay of the Marvel Universe.

The issue will feature art from Scott Koblish.  Koblish is no stranger to Deadpool fans. He previously illustrated the “inventory” issues of “Deadpool” as well as the upcoming “animated” “Deadpool Annual.” This isn’t the first comic credit that Jillette has earned, however. Jillette had a written homage to the Dark Knight published in 1989’s “Batman” #600 and contributed a story to “Dark Horse Presents” in 1998. Oni Press published his own one-shot, “The Adventures of Rheumy Peepers and Chunky Highlights,” in 1999.

“Spider-Man/Deadpool” #11 is scheduled to arrive in stores this November.  Reserve your copy.

TNTM Li’l Deadpool on July 4

Happy 4th of July from Li’l Deadpool

Deadpool July 4
Deadpool July 4

Heya Zia Comics fans, Lil Deadpool here. As you can tell I’m ready for the 4th.

Some of you may be asking “Wait Deadpool, aren’t you a burka wearing, cold loving, Canadian ay?” Yes, yes I am.

But, how can one not celebrate the actions of oppressed farmers and settlers, fighting the superior force of a world power, bent on occupying all of the known world, that’s right, the Brits.

Out numbered, out gunned, with little training, early colonists held off the most powerful force in their time.

A bunch of farmers, militia men, settlers banded together under one man, George Washington. (Mr. Iron Jaw wooden teeth himself. Jeez… I mean the guy crossed the Delaware on Christmas morn and stomped a ton of sleeping British troops. How can you not follow that guy?)

Well a bunch of podunk Americans gained their independence. The price? Blood, tears, and the possibility of death. Today, we remember what your country has done, take some pride. Be an American today, cause your forefathers earned it, and you have the horror of trying to live up to them. (Sniff sniff) Gotta love an underdog, I know I do. Today I’m an American.

Li’l Deadpool Diary – Guardians of the Galaxy

Hey Zia Comics fans, Li’l Deadpool here. There have been some shady characters stealing the spotlight from yours truly. Though not as shady as myself, the Guardians of… Whatever they guard, are a bunch of misfits with some pretty long records.

The green hottie (Gamora not Drax) was an assassin for Thanos!

Gamora

Drax the Destroyer (probably of toilets) has a vendetta against the Mad Titan and is on a mission of vengeance against him.

Rocket and Groot… I thought my imagination was wacked. The person who thought up those two must have had an aneurysm of awesomeness after that spark of creativity.

Groot and I stayed up all night long talking, but I feel like I know so little about him. Rocket is smarter than he looks… Smaller though, much smaller in person.

Rocket and Groot

Then there is Starlord, or Peter I guess. He is the son of the Spartax King and half human. Despite a tragic back ground (who doesn’t have one of those nowadays though, am I right?) He can sure show a loud mouth merc a good time.

Starlord

I know what all of you are thinking, “ol’ Deadpool is going to overreact and get in over his head.” The whole shootem up thing was my first instinct, and I must admit I love that plan. But I got to spying on my new targets and I came to find them, dare I say, heartwarming.

Well… If you can’t bring yourself to shoot em, might as well join em! Plus they love dramatic poses just as much as your pal Deadpool. Til next time ZC Fans! MUAH!

Li’l Deadpool Diary Parody – Robbie the Robot

Hey Zia fans, Li’l Deadpool here. For those of you who aren’t fans of classic sci-fi, this is Robbie the Robot. Surprisingly, Stan Lee did not create this guy. I know, with a name like that he sounds awful Stan Lee-ish.

Deadpool
Deadpool meets Robbie the Robot

But for reals, this awkward walking toaster is a staple in american cinema. Shame on all of you for not knowing Robbie the Robot!

This is where Darth Vader got his patented light bright breastplate! (Maybe) where Vader got his style, I’ll never know. Robbie wasn’t much of a conversationalist, but I’ve always had a weakness for the strong silent type of robot. (Oh swoon!!)

BTW ever get that feeling you’re not alone, or you’re being followed? (Merc senses tingling!) My fall back is dismissing that feeling as a mild case of schizophrenia, but this time I’m serious.

I’m positive I’m being watched, and not in a good “hey check out his booty” kind of way. Keep your eyes peeled, Later players! (That’s still a thing, right?)

Li’l Deadpool Diary Adventure Parody Loki

So… I bet you’re all wondering “where in the world is Deadpool?” I sure wasn’t with Carmen San Diego that’s for sure! (I know all you ZC fans were worried with baited breath for little ol’ me.)

Well, if you have kept up with my antics, then you know I was last left on a lake with a foreboding warning about a large carnivorous fish, from the Norse god, and major b-hole, Loki.

Needless to say, I was eaten. Luckily, I brought plenty of bullets and my trusty swords. I’m no marine biologist, but I don’t need to be in order to shoot and cut my way out of a stomach. Turns out it was a thick stomach. (I’m gonna be honest here… I didn’t get through the stomach. I was, as they say, passed through brown town).

I’m gonna need the costume cleaned… Na, I’ll just burn it. There is no way this stench is coming out. It might be a while before I eat fish sticks, that’s for sure. I swear, the first person to make a ‘Jonah’ joke, I will find them and I can introduce you to the giant fish myself. (As soon as I shower in disinfectant and bleach that is.)

Seriously, not one missed call, text, voicemail, Snapchat, MySpace message, or Facebook poke … And to think, I thought you all cared about me! I think I’ll just go clean my guns, cry til I dehydrate, make some pancakes, and find Thor, that guy always puts me in a better mood.

TNTM Li’l Deadpool Diary Parody-Green Goblin

Green Goblin is a party crasher!

Well Zia Comic fans, I was putting together a little surprise for a friendly neighborhood Spider-guy and this dude shows up. This is Green Goblin and he ruined everything!

Green Goblin
Green Goblin

He’s one of those guys that laughs at everything you say, very creepily and maniacally I might add. Needless to say, he is a negative Norman Osborn. There I am, slaving away, half way done with my fire works display (mostly dynamite) and he shows up… Throwing flaming pumpkin bombs! I told him the pumpkins were a bad idea.

Its a good thing I have this handy dandy healing factor. Bad news is I spent half an hour looking for my left arm. Even worse news my fireworks display is ruined!

It was going to be so beautiful. I was going to write “Spider-man + Deadpool=BFFs” In the night sky.

I cried so hard I threw up… The cake tasted just as good as it went in though. Anyway, I’m gonna go crawl into my sock drawer and cry.

Later days ZC fans, Deadpool needs some alone time and a tub of mint chocolate chip to make all this heartache go away! (Oh sob! Oh cry!)

Li’l Deadpool Diary Parody – Doctor Doom

It’s Deadpool Zia Comics fans. Coming to you from the far off land of Latveria. Since I was strolling through this lovely eastern European country, I decided to drop in on its resident celebrity, Victor von Doom.

Deadpool Doctor Doom

Now ol’ Vic here isn’t exactly hospitable (especially if you knock on his mansion’s various entry ways screaming, “housekeeping!”)

As you all probably know this isn’t the first time my mouth has got me into trouble. (I’m willing to bet it won’t be the last either.)

I’m pretty sure I got the last laugh though. Ever wonder if people are laughing at you? Well, in Dr. Doom’s case, they were. Deadpool strikes again!!!!

Li’l Deadpool Adventure Diary Parody

Li’l Deadpool Super Duper Secret Asgardian intelligence Excursion Codename: Prowling Panther

Deadpool and Loki

Let me level with you guys, I’m really bad at keeping secrets. I keep a dream journal. Dr. McCoy says it should stay private and out of the hands of anyone who has the capacity to read.

However, Dr. Phil says that for people to get over their issues they need to share their stories. So I read mine to kids at the library.

It always starts off good, but then people shoosh me when I make the gun and explosion noises. Then I get screamed at when I get to the love scenes.

Which leads to me tying up the librarian to get him out of my face. Then I’m on the news in some blown up hostage situation. All I want to do is get some stuff off my chest.

Anyway, I digress. Back to the mission at hand. I was hired to find a back road into Asgard, the home of that wonderful spoonful of pecks Thor. But I ran into his baby brother. This horny guy is Loki. He is apparently the god of mischief.

You would think he had a better sense of humor but in reality he’s kind of boner. He’s probably the guy who talks to himself and scares the hell out of old people when they leave the grocery store. Not the endearing kind of crazy. He also doesn’t like when you make penis jokes about his helmet.

This is one of his ways in and out of Asgard and I seemed to have stumbled onto it. It’s through this garden that actively tries to make you go crazy. Needless to say, like most women in my life, I believe I drove it crazier than it ever did me.

Deadpool and Loki2

I will say this, I did get a little woozy and I wandered around for what felt like days. I saw some of the things I wrote in my dream journal. I Soaked my pants twice (always bring two pairs of undies kids). And now well, I don’t know how I got here.

I think I’m in Tony Danza’s pool.  That would explain why he is screaming at me. I’m pretty sure phallic helmet has something to do with this.

This is going in the journal.
