Story in Many Pics: Cooper conquers Del Valle 42-21

The Monsters of the Mission Valley – the Del Valle Conquistadores – made their way to Abilene to take on the Cooper Cougars.

While the Conquistadores battled hard, the Cougars came to the field with their claws out, defeating Del Valle 42 to 21.

Game in Many Pics: Del Valle edges Chapin 15-10

To cap the regular season schedule, the Chapin Huskies and Del Valle Conquistadores battled in the Mission Valley Friday night.

The Huskies gave the homestanding Conquistadores a great fight, but it was Del Valle that would come out on top 15-10.

Game in Many Pics: Eastlake soars over Del Valle 21-14

The nightcap between the two Far East El Paso powerhouses at the SAC did not disappoint, as the Eastlake Falcons hosted the Del Valle Conquistadores.

The battle was finally won by the home team, as the Falcons took flight over the Conquistadores 21-14.

Game in Many Pics: Del Valle downs Bel Air 41-24

With a chill in the air and the Homecoming court chosen, the Bel Air Highlanders made their way to the Mission Valley to take on the Del Valle Conquistadores.

Del Valle was in no mood to dance, taking the game to the Highlanders en route to a 41 to 24 win.

Game in Many Pics: Del Valle conquers El Dorado 34-21

The early game at Socorro ISD Student Activities Complex featured the Del Valle Conquistadores visiting the El Dorado Aztecs.

While the homestanding Aztecs did their best, they were no match for the Conquistadores who grabbed the win 34-21

The Monsters of the Mission Valley made their way east – way east – to take on the Hutto Hippos Friday night.

The homestanding Hippos gave Del Valle all they could handle, taking the game 38-14.

Video+Story: Del Valle High Wins $10k in Powerade Contest

Thanks to a trio of Conquistadores, Del Valle High School’s athletics programs are among several schools nationwide to be awarded cash by sportsdrink brand Powerade.

Del Valle High School digital media students created the award-winning video for the “Power Your School” contest sponsored by Powerade.

Ranked #16 in the nationwide contest, the Del Valle athletic program will now receive $10,000.

According to YISD officials, Powerade launched the contest last summer to help student athletes by awarding a total of $1 million to high school athletic programs across the country.

The “Power Your School” video essay detailed their schools’ needs. Contest entries were judged on school need, creativity, and quality of submission.

The video was produced by Del Valle students Eileen Matamoros, Roberto Adame, and Jose Villalobos. Their video was the only winner in Ysleta ISD.

After the win was announced, the students thanked Coach Armendariz, Coach Marrufo, Coach Perales, and Coach Sanchez for their support in completing the project.

Story in Many Pics: Denton Ryan Downs Del Valle 42-14

The Denton Ryan Raiders hosted the Del Valle Conquistadores in day two of the second round of the Texas High School Football Playoffs in Midland Saturday afternoon.

Del Valle played a competitive game, but the Raiders came roaring out for the second half, securing a 42-14 victory.

The Eastlake Falcons few south from their roost in the High Desert to take on the Monsters of the Mission Valley, the Del Valle Conquistadores.

Del Valle defended their home turf fiercely, holding the Falcons to only one score en route to a 44-7 win.

Story in Many Pics: Del Valle Downs Hanks 58-14

The Conquistadores rose from the Mission Valley Friday night, headed to the kingdom on the city’s eastside to take on the Hanks Knights at Excalibur Stadium.

Del Valle stormed the castle, and while the Knights fought valiantly, the silver-clad visitors won 58-14.

The much anticipated cross-town match up between the Canutillo Eagles and the Del Valle Conquistadores took to the field Friday night in the Mission Valley.

While the visiting Eagles kept pace with the Conquistadores, Del Valle’s power soon overwhelmed Canutillo, en route to a 37-14 win.
