  • DETOUR: Eastbound and westbound traffic on I-10 will take Exit 22B (US 54/Alamogordo/Juárez/Fort Bliss), travel north on US 54 to Exit 22B (Pershing Drive), use the Pershing Turnaround, enter southbound US 54 and follow signs to eastbound I-10, westbound I-10 or Juárez.
  • Crews will be placing a bridge deck on a new direct connector ramp over I-10

  • DETOUR: Eastbound and westbound traffic on I-10 will take Exit 22B (US 54/Alamogrdo/Juárez/Fort Bliss), travel north on US 54 to Exit 22B (Pershing Drive), use the Pershing Turnaround, enter southbound US 54 and follow signs to eastbound I-10, westbound I-10 or Juárez.

The following long-term closures will continue without interruption:

  • Ramps F and G, which connect I-10 to Juárez at the Spaghetti Bowl, remain detoured through northbound US 54 to Pershing Drive until further notice.
  • Ramp T, which connects Gateway Boulevard North to northbound US 54 north of US 62 (Paisano Drive), remains closed until further notice.
  • Both turnarounds under US 54 at US 62 (Paisano Drive) remain closed until further notice.
  • Intermittent lane closures will be in place on US 54 between Loop 375 and Spur 601.
  • Intermittent lane closures will be in place on Gateway Boulevard East between Piedras Street and US 62/180 (Paisano Drive).
  • Lane closures will be in place on eastbound and westbound SH 20 (Alameda Avenue) at US 54 until further notice.
  • Lane closures will be in place on eastbound and westbound US 62 (Paisano Drive) between I-110 and US 54 until further notice.
  • Lane closures will be in place on Ramp D, which connects southbound US 54 to eastbound I-10 until further notice.
  • Lane closures will be in place on Gateway Boulevard South between Findley Avenue and US 62 (Paisano Drive) until further notice.
  • Intermittent closures of the onramp which connects Gateway Boulevard East to eastbound I-10 at Loop 478 (Copia Street).
  • Intermittent closures on Gateway Boulevard East between Piedras Street and US 62/180 (Paisano Drive).
  • Intermittent closures on Gateway Boulevard West between Boone Street and Palm Street.
  • Intermittent closures of Durazno Avenue, Rosa Avenue and Uva Street.
  • Intermittent lane closures on Ramp H which connects eastbound I-10 to northbound US 54.

Onramp and offramp closures may begin up to one hour earlier than stated times. All information is subject to change based upon weather and field conditions.

Go10, Connect10, TxDoT closures, detours for week of May 26

GO 10 has no closures scheduled over the Memorial Day weekend; but, in June, plans are to close I-10 every Sunday for 27-hour periods while crews move 40,000 feet worth of barrier walls and put lanes in their final design.

The end result is – roadway work will be complete by June 30th – on time and on budget.  After June, expect work to continue off the roadways for another two months or so.

Off-the-roadway work will be for miscellaneous items, such as, finishing of a rock wall in the Sunland Park area, flood control work, clean up, and other punch list items.

Holiday travelers won’t encounter any overnight closures or full freeway shut downs due to the I-10 Connect Project over the Memorial Day Weekend, but major closures will resume in the days and weeks following the holiday.

Wednesday, May 29, 9am to 4pm:

  • Gateway Boulevard South will be closed to all traffic between Cassidy Road and Tompkins Road.
  • DETOUR: Van Buren Avenue, left on Loop 478 (Dyer Street), left on Tompkins Road, right on Gateway South.

Crews will be placing concrete safety barriers.

Beginning on Friday, May 31 and continuing until further notice:

  • Ramp E which connects Gateway Boulevard South to southbound US 54 south of Yandell Drive will be closed to all traffic.
  • DETOUR: Enter southbound US 54 from Gateway Boulevard South immediately south of Pershing Drive.

Crews will be working on overhead columns.

Other upcoming closures, pending exact dates and times:

  • 27-hour complete closure of westbound I-10 at US 54
  • Complete closures of northbound and southbound US 54 between Spur 601 and I-10

The Following Long-Term Closures Will Remain In Place During the Week of May 26:

  • The on-ramp from Gateway Boulevard North to I-110 near the El Paso Zoo will be closed to all traffic each weekday.
  • Intermittent lane closures will be in place on Gateway Boulevard East from Piedras Street to US 62/180 (Paisano Drive).
  • Intermittent lane closures will be in place on Gateway Boulevard West from Boone Street to Palm Street.
  • Ramp T which connects Gateway Boulevard North to northbound US 54 north of US 62 (Paisano Drive) remains closed until further notice.
  • Both turnarounds between Gateway Boulevard North and Gateway Boulevard South under US 54 at US 62 (Paisano Drive) remain closed until further notice.
  • Turnaround from Gateway Boulevard East to Gateway Boulevard West under I-10 at Trowbridge Drive remains closed until further notice.
  • Lane closures are in place on eastbound and westbound US 62 (Paisano Drive) at US 54 until further notice.
  • Lane closures are in place on Ramp D which connects southbound US 54 to eastbound I-10 until further notice.
  • Intermittent lane closures on Gateway Boulevard South between Findley Avenue and US 62 (Paisano Drive).

All closures are subject to change due to weather or field conditions. On ramps and off ramps may close up to an hour before stated times.

GO10

I-10 East at Sunland Park Drive

Sunday, June 2 (27-hour closure)
3 a.m. to 6 a.m. the next day

  • I-10 East will close completely between Redd Road and Executive Center Boulevard. Detour: Motorists on I-10 East will exit at Redd Road (exit 9), follow Redd Road to Doniphan Drive, follow Doniphan Drive to Paisano Drive (US 85), follow Paisano Drive (US 85) to Executive Center Boulevard and re-enter I-10 East using the Executive Center entrance ramp.
  • The North Mesa entrance ramp to I-10 East will close.
  • The eastbound collector-distributor (CD) lanes will close completely at North Mesa Street (SH 20).
  • Paisano Drive (US 85) – in front of the auto dealerships – will close completely starting at Sunland Park Drive.
  • Crockett Street access to Paisano Drive (US 85) will close.
  • Both turnaround bridges at Sunland Park Drive will close.
  • The Sunland Park flyover ramp and the Resler flyover ramp will close.
  • Milestone: When this 27-hour closure lifts, motorists on I-10 East can expect a lane pattern change that will place them on the new mainlanes of I-10 near Buena Vista. This change comes after two years of drivers being detoured onto the eastbound CD lanes.

  • I-10 East will close completely between North Mesa Street (SH 20) and Sunland Park Drive. Detour: Motorists traveling on I-10 East will be detoured onto the eastbound CD lanes, bypassing all signalized intersections.

  • Crews will be removing barrier and striping I-10 pavement to final configuration.

  • I-10 East will close completely between North Mesa Street (SH 20) and Sunland Park Drive. Detour: Motorists traveling on I-10 East will be detoured onto the eastbound CD lanes, bypassing all signalized intersections.
  • I-10 West will close completely between Executive Center Boulevard and North Mesa Street (SH 20). Detour: Motorists traveling on I-10 West will exit at Executive Center (exit 16), follow Executive Center to North Mesa Street (SH 20), then follow the detour signs along North Mesa Street (SH 20). Motorists may re-enter I-10 West using the Redd Road entrance ramp.
  • The Schuster/UTEP entrance ramp to I-10 West will close.
  • Crews will be removing barrier and striping I-10 pavement to final configuration, among other activities.

I-10 West at Sunland Park Drive

  • I-10 West will close completely between Sunland Park (exit 13) and North Mesa.

Crews will be installing a sign in the area.

 

I-10 East at Sunland

 

 

27 Hours

Sunday, June 2

3 am to 6 am the next day

TxDoT/Connect10/Go10 project detours, construction & closures for week of April 1

There is a 27-hour closure this weekend as crews on our GO10 Project work on the final configuration for the North Mesa intersection.

PLAN AHEAD:

  • As part of our Montana Avenue Widening Project, El Paso Electric (EPE) will be placing new cables on structures along Montana Avenue, requiring a complete closure between Lee Trevino and George Dieter this Sunday, March 31, from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m. More details below.
  • The first I-10 Connect monthly community meetings at which members of the public can get updates on project progress and upcoming traffic impacts is scheduled 5:30 – 7pm on Tuesday, April 2, 2019, in the Medical Education Building at Texas Tech University Health Science Center El Paso’s Paul L.   • Mesa Park Interchange Project 28-hour closure scheduled for Sunday, April 7,  2 a.m. to Monday, April 8, 6 a.m. Complete closure of I-10 eastbound. Traffic will exit at Sunland Park. On-ramp at Executive eastbound will be closed.

This week, GO 10 reached two major completion milestones:

  • All the main lanes of the Sunland Park Drive overpass are now open.
  • The Resler westbound exit ramp is also now open.

US 54 Widening and Illumination Project

Saturday, April 6
5 a.m. to 5 p.m.

  • Full freeway closure main lanes US 54 north and southbound
  • Traffic northbound will exit Hondo Pass and reenter Transmountain
  • Traffic southbound will exit Transmountain and reenter at Hondo Pass

North Mesa

27-hour Closure
Sunday, March 31 at 3 a.m., to Monday, April 1 at 6 a.m.

  • All the exit ramps and entrance ramps at I-10 and North Mesa will close.
  • North Mesa Street (SH 20) will close in both directions between Osborne Drive and Remcon Circle.
  • South Desert Boulevard is closed at McClintock Drive.
  • Completion Milestone: Once this closure lifts, permanent traffic signals and permanent lane striping will be in place along North Mesa Street (SH 20), and barriers along North Mesa Street (SH 20) will be removed.
  • Note: The North Mesa entrance ramp to I-10 westbound will remain closed.

I-10 West

Sunday, March 31
9 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following morning

  • I-10 westbound will close completely between the Sunland Park exit ramp and the Sunland Park entrance ramp.
  • Detour: Motorists on I-10 westbound will exit at Sunland Park (Exit 13) and immediately re-enter I-10 westbound at the next entrance ramp.
  • Crews will be pouring concrete in the median of I-10 between Sunland Park and Executive Center.

Sunday, April 7 at 3 a.m., to Monday, April 8 at 6 a.m.

  • I-10 westbound will close completely at North Mesa Street (SH 20).
  • North Desert Boulevard will close between North Mesa and Thorn.

  • I-10 eastbound will close between the North Mesa exit ramp (Exit 11) and Executive Center Boulevard. Detour: Motorists on I-10 eastbound will exit at North Mesa (Exit 11) and follow North Mesa Street (SH 20) to Executive Center Boulevard. Motorists may use the Executive Center entrance ramp to re-enter I-10 eastbound.
  • All entrance ramps to I-10 eastbound will close between the North Mesa Street overpass and the Executive Center Boulevard overpass.
  • Paisano Drive (US 85) – in front of the auto dealerships – will close at Sunland Park Drive.
  • Crockett Street access to Paisano Drive (US 85) will close.
  • The Sunland Park Drive flyover entrance ramp to I-10 eastbound and to US 85 eastbound will close.
  • The Resler Drive flyover entrance ramp to I-10 eastbound will close.
  • Crews will be installing overhead exit signs along I-10 and conducting other work in the I-10 median.

 

Loop 375 Frontage Road Project

  • Loop 375 northbound complete closure at Socorro Road/Alameda Avenue exit ramp
  • All traffic will exit at Zaragoza Road exit ramp or North Loop Road exit ramp
  • Crews will be installing portable concrete traffic barrier and temporary striping

12 a.m. to 5 a.m.

  • Loop 375 northbound complete main lane closure between Zaragoza Road and Socorro Road
  • All traffic will exit at Zaragoza Road exit ramp (frontage road) and re-enter at Alameda Avenue entrance ramp

  • Loop 375 northbound complete closure at South Americas entrance ramp

  • Crews will be installing portable concrete traffic barrier and temporary striping

12 a.m. to 5 a.m.

  • Loop 375 northbound complete main lane closure between Zaragoza Road and Socorro Road
  • All traffic will exit at Zaragoza Road exit ramp (frontage road) and re-enter at South Americas Avenue entrance ramp
