The Parks and Recreation Department will host the 10th annual Doggie Swimming Day event from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, September 8, and Sunday, September 9 at the Nations Tobin Pool located at 8831 Railroad Drive.
Admission is $2 per dog and pet owners get in free.
In addition, the Animal Services Department will be offering free pet microchip checks. Staff will scan for a dog’s microchip to ensure that their owner’s contact information is up to date.
The Animal Rescue League will also be offering onsite pet adoptions.
The annual event gives dogs the opportunity to go swimming in the outdoor pool before the pool shuts down for the winter. The Parks and Recreation Department is also planning several dog-friendly activities during the event.
Pet owners must bring a paper copy of their dog’s shot records in order to participate in the event. Dogs that only have collar tags will not be allowed to participate. All shot records must show current rabies, distemper and parvo information.
