During Tuesday’s regular City Council meeting, members awarded construction contracts for improvements to both East Cave Park and Stiles Park.
Black Stallion Contractors was award a construction contract for an approximately $88,400 in improvements to East Cave Park, located at 14341 E. Cave Avenue, and approximately $217,400 in improvements to Stiles Park, at 7325 Stiles Drive.
The East Cave Park improvements are part of a Neighborhood Improvement Program project and are funded by the 2012 Quality of Life Bonds. The park will be receiving a new playground area which will include a perimeter rock wall, concrete ADA compliant sidewalk and ramps.
Stiles Park will receive a new playground area that will include a perimeter rock wall, picnic units, park benches, trash receptacles, a bike rack, new landscaping and modifications to the existing drainage system thanks to a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG).
Both projects are part of the City of El Paso’s commitment to enhance El Paso Quality of Life through recreational, cultural and educational environments.
