The El Paso Chihuahuas trailed late in Sunday’s game in Las Vegas before scoring three runs in the eighth to tie it and three more in the ninth to go ahead and win 8-5.
Nick Schulz went 3-for-5 with three RBIs in the win. El Paso catcher Stephen McGee hit a game-tying home run in the eighth inning and also drew two walks in his first start of the year.
Allen Craig had two late RBI singles in his best game to date with El Paso.
Luis Urias went 1-for-4 with a walk and has now reached base multiple times in three of the Chihuahuas first four contests. With Franmil Reyes’ pinch-hit single in the seventh inning, El Paso pinch-hitters are 4-for-6 this season.

The El Paso Chihuahuas hit four home runs in their 8-3 win over the Las Vegas 51s Saturday. Chihuahuas starter Brett Kennedy allowed only one earned run in six innings in his Triple-A debut, while adding an RBI single at the plate.
San Diego outfielder Franchy Cordero went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in his second injury rehab game with El Paso. Franmil Reyes hit a solo home run in the second inning, his first Triple-A homer after 25 in Double-A last season.
Brett Nicholas and Javy Guerra slugged back-to-back home runs in the sixth inning, El Paso’s first set of back-to-back homers in 2018.
Nicholas went 3-for-5 in his first game in the Padres organization. Eric Yardley and Kyle McGrath both pitched scoreless outings out of the El Paso bullpen Saturday.

The El Paso Chihuahuas beat the Las Vegas 51s 4-2 Thursday night at Cashman Field, advancing the Chihuahuas’ all-time Opening Day record to 4-1.
Eric Lauer pitched six innings and got the win in his Triple-A debut. El Paso relievers Buddy Baumann, Kyle Lloyd and Jonathan Aro combined on three scoreless innings without allowing a hit.
El Paso’s top two hitters in the batting order, Travis Jankowski and Luis Urias, reached base six times in 10 combined plate appearances. Franmil Reyes went 1-for-4 with a two-run double in his Triple-A debut, while Javy Guerra hit an opposite field solo home run in his first Triple-A game.
The Chihuahuas had their leadoff batter reach base in six of nine innings Thursday. El Paso went 2-for-2 pinch-hitting, with both Diego Goris and Shane Peterson picking up singles.
