The El Paso Chihuahuas hit four home runs in their 8-3 win over the Las Vegas 51s Saturday. Chihuahuas starter Brett Kennedy allowed only one earned run in six innings in his Triple-A debut, while adding an RBI single at the plate.
San Diego outfielder Franchy Cordero went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in his second injury rehab game with El Paso. Franmil Reyes hit a solo home run in the second inning, his first Triple-A homer after 25 in Double-A last season.
Brett Nicholas and Javy Guerra slugged back-to-back home runs in the sixth inning, El Paso’s first set of back-to-back homers in 2018.
Nicholas went 3-for-5 in his first game in the Padres organization. Eric Yardley and Kyle McGrath both pitched scoreless outings out of the El Paso bullpen Saturday.
