While First Responders are tasked with responding to traumatic events, taking care of the affected children is our community’s responsibility.
Texas State Representative Mary González has joined Socorro High School in a donation drive for stuffed animals, that will be distributed to children who have experienced loss or trauma.
“As a community, we must ensure that we are doing everything we can to help the youngest among us,” Rep. González said. “If you are able to donate to the drive, it will truly brighten the day of kids who are affected by loss or trauma.”
“Our children are the most significant component of our society,” said Rep. González. “They truly are our future – this teddy bear drive is a small but meaningful way to help those kids in need.”
Donations can be dropped off at Socorro High School’s Student Activities located at 10150 Alameda Avenue, or at Rep. Gonzalez’ District Office, 11200 Santos Sanchez- Wellness Center.
The goal is to receive 1,000 stuffed animals by October 31st.
