El Paso Chef Emiliano Marentes is in the running for a chance to compete in the Food Network’s Chopped: Impossible Restaurant Challenge, but he needs the El Paso community to vote for him to advance.
Marentes is one of 10 semifinalists whose recipe was selected by professional chefs from the Food Network Kitchen for the competition.
From November 23 to December 14 the public can vote for his Chicken Ballotine + Ancho Pomegranate Mole + Black recipe featured on the Food Network website.

The four entries that receive the most votes will become finalists and will win a trip to NYC to compete in a Chopped-style competition for a $10,000 grand prize. Anyone can vote on the Food Network’s website, Facebook, and Twitter. You may vote up to five times per day until December 14.
Marentes is a Burges High School graduate and currently Executive Chef at Hoppy Monk-El Paso and Hoppy Monk-San Antonio. Attached is a photo of him at the Taste of El Paso event from a couple of years ago.
