The Franciscan Festival of Fine Arts will be held again this Labor Day weekend, September 5 and 6, 2015 at Holy Cross Retreat Center, 600 Holy Cross Road, Mesilla Park, New Mexico.
Featuring over 80 artists, many of them new to the Festival this year; live music, a beer and wine garden, enchilada dinner and food vendors, this year’s Festival is anticipated to attract over 5,400 people from the surrounding area.
Holy Cross Retreat Center is a unique gem in the community. The original house is over 100 years old. The grounds are an oasis of serenity, surrounded by a pecan grove and containing many picturesque gardens and an attentive and friendly staff.
This year we completed construction of Holy Cross Chapel, a beautiful mission style chapel which seats 200.
Local artisans have filled the Chapel with exquisite furniture, Stations of the Cross, and statues. A rosary garden and labyrinth are part of the Chapel’s landscaping.
Amajor goal of the Franciscan Art Festival is showcasing the Retreat Center to the public. The festival runs 9 to 5 Saturday and 10 to 4 Sunday.
