TxDoT/Go10 Closures, Detours for Week of August 26

I-10 West at Sunland

 

15 HOURS

Sunday, August 26

3 am to 6 pm

 

·      I-10 Westbound will close completely at Sunland Park (Exit 13).

·      The Sunland Park entrance ramp to I-10 Westbound will close.

·      Left turns onto Sunland Park Drive from the Sunland Park westbound exit ramp will not be permitted.

 

Detour:  Motorists on I-10 Westbound will exit at Sunland Park (Exit 13), then follow the detour signs to North Mesa Street (SH 20). Motorists may re-enter I-10 Westbound from the North Mesa Street entrance ramp.

 

Crews will be moving barrier walls and re-striping lanes on I-10 Westbound.

 

IMPORTANT:  After the closure lifts, motorists on I-10 Westbound should approach the North Mesa area with caution because traffic lane patterns will be changed.  

 

I-10 West at Executive Overnight

August 27-30

9 pm to 6 am nightly

 

·      I-10 Westbound will close completely at Executive Center Boulevard (Exit 16).

·      Sunland Park Drive will close in both directions at the I-10 overpass.

·      The Sunland Park flyover entrance ramp to I-10 Eastbound will close.

·      The Sunland Park entrance ramp to I-10 Westbound will close.

·      The Schuster/UTEP entrance ramp to I-10 Westbound will close.

 

Detour: Motorists on I-10 Westbound will exit at Executive Center (Exit 16), then follow the detour signs to North Mesa Street (SH 20). Motorists may re-enter I-10 Westbound from the North Mesa Street entrance ramp.

 

I-10 East at Redd 27 HOURS

Sunday, September 9 at 3 a.m. until Monday, September 10 at 6 a.m.

 

·      I-10 Eastbound will close at Redd Road (Exit 9).

·      The Redd Road entrance ramp to I-10 Eastbound will close.

 

Detour:  Motorists on I-10 Eastbound will exit at Redd Road (Exit 9), follow it to South Desert Boulevard, then follow South Desert Boulevard to North Mesa Street (SH 20). Motorists may re-enter I-10 Eastbound using the North Mesa Street entrance ramp.

 

Crews will be moving barrier walls and re-striping lanes on I-10 Eastbound.

 

IMPORTANT:  After the closure lifts, motorists on I-10 Eastbound at North Mesa Street (SH 20) will experience a change in traffic lane patterns. Please proceed cautiously.

Rip-rap Repair Project

Sunday, Aug. 26 through Thursday, Aug. 30

  • I-10 westbound at Paisano – 2 right lanes closed

Westway Project Phase III

  • Complete closure of I-10 east and westbound at the Vinton overpass
  • Crews will be placing concrete on the new turnaround bridge

 

US 54 Widening and Illumination Project

Starting Sunday, Sept. 9 and Monday, Sept. 10
9 p.m. to 5 a.m. (nightly)

  • Complete closure of US 54 southbound between Dyer exit ramp to the Ellerthorpe pedestrian bridge
  • Crews will be painting and installing clearance height signs on the pedestrian bridge

 

Tuesday, Sept. 11
9 p.m. to 5 p.m. (one night only)

  • Complete closure on US 54 southbound between the Transmountain/Woodrow Bean exit ramp to the Hondo Pass overpass
  • Detour: US 54 southbound traffic will need to exit at the Transmountain/Woodrow Bean exit ramp and re-enter at the Hondo Pass entrance ramp
  • Crews will be working on opening the new ramp and closing the existing exit ramp between Transmountain and Diana

 

Wednesday, Sept. 12
9 p.m. to 5 p.m. (one night only)

  • Complete closure on US 54 northbound between the Hondo Pass exit ramp to the Transmountain exit ramp
  • Detour: US 54 northbound traffic will need to exit at Hondo Pass and re-enter at the Transmountain/Woodrow Bean entrance ramp
  • Crews will be working on opening the new exit ramp between Diana and Transmountain

 

Mesa Park Project

Tuesday, Sept. 4

  • Complete closure on I-10 eastbound between Sunland Park to Executive
  • Detour: Eastbound traffic will need to exit at the Sunland Park exit ramp and use Mesa to enter at Executive

·         The right lane on North Mesa Street (SH 20) – in the direction traveling toward Doniphan Drive – will close between North Desert Boulevard and Osborne Drive.

 

Crews will continue work to install a storm drain pipe.

 

Note:  One Sun Metro bus stop on North Mesa Street at Osborne Drive (near Taco Cabana) will be closed July 25-27 due to this work activity. Detour: Motorists should find an alternate route or follow the detour signs in place.

 

Business access: Access to area businesses will be open.

 

Crews will be working on the I-10 overpass and working on traffic signals.

 

North Mesa Street

Wednesday, August 1 and Thursday, August 2

9 pm to 6 am nightly

 

·         North Mesa Street (SH 20) ) – in the direction traveling toward Doniphan Drive – will close between North Desert and South Desert boulevards.

·         The North Mesa exit ramp (exit 11) from I-10 Westbound will close.

 

Detour:  Motorists should find an alternate route or follow the detour signs in place.

 

Crews are paving on North Mesa Street.

·      Paisano Drive (US 85), including the entrance ramp to I-10 Eastbound, will close.

·      Crockett Street access to Paisano Drive (US 85) will close.

·      The Resler Drive flyover ramp to I-10 Eastbound will close.

·      I-10 Westbound will close completely between the Sunland Park exit and entrance ramps.

o   Motorists on I-10 Westbound will exit at Sunland Park (Exit 13) and immediately re-enter I-10 at the next entrance ramp.

TxDoT/Go10 Project Closures, Detours for Week of April 16

Work continues on the Go10/TxDoT projects around the Sun City, with the bulk of the action taking place on the city’s west side highways and byways.

Two big upcoming events, the Sunland flyover opens and the Sunland overpass closes on April 30. Then, crews plan to shut down the I-10/Sunland interchange for two back-to-back weekends in May.

·      North Mesa Street (SH 20) eastbound will have a right lane closed between Osborne Drive and North Desert Boulevard.

 

The closure is necessary to prevent high clearance vehicles from colliding with an overhead platform. The platform is in place so crews may complete construction of a bridge substructure.

 

North Mesa

 

Daytime

April 16-20

9 am to 4 pm daily

 

·      North Desert Boulevard will have the left lane closed between North Mesa Street (SH 20) and Thorn Avenue. One lane will always remain open. Access to the I-10 westbound entrance ramp will be open.

 

Crews are building new roads in the area. North Mesa Street (SH 20) will be subject to lane closures throughout 2018.

 

I-10 West at Executive Center

 

Overnight

April 16-19

9 pm each night to 6 am each morning

 

·      I-10 Westbound will close between Executive Center Boulevard and Sunland Park Drive.

·      The Schuster Avenue entrance ramp to I-10 Westbound will close.

 

Detour: Motorists will exit at Executive Center Boulevard (Exit 16) and follow the detour signs to re-enter I-10 Westbound at the North Mesa Street (SH 20) entrance ramp.

 

Crews will be demolishing a portion of the old Sunland Park flyover ramp, plugging potholes, and hauling dirt.

 

NOTE:  Other closures on Sunland Park Drive will coincide with this closure on April 16-18. Open the news release to see Map #2, which shows all closures happening on the nights of April 16-18.

 

Sunland Park

 

Continuous, 24/7

9 pm April 16 through April 30

 

·      Sunland Park Drive northbound will have a right lane closed between Constitution Drive and Paisano Drive (US 85).

 

Motorists should proceed with caution and obey the road signs.

 

Crews will be conducting pavement work at the I-10/Sunland Park interchange.

 

Sunland Park

 

Overnight

April 16-18

9 pm each night to 6 am each following morning

 

·      Sunland Park Drive southbound will close between Mesa Hills Drive and Paisano Drive (US 85).

·      The Sunland Park Drive entrance ramp to I-10 Westbound will close.

·      The Sunland Park Drive northbound overpass will close.

 

Detours:

o   Motorists on southbound Sunland Park Drive will take North Mesa Street (SH 20) to Resler Drive, then take I-10 Eastbound and exit at Sunland Park Drive to continue on Sunland Park Drive southbound.

o   Motorists on northbound Sunland Park Drive will be detoured to enter I-10 Eastbound, exit at Executive Center Blvd, follow Executive Center Blvd to North Mesa Street (SH 20), then follow North Mesa Street (SH 20) to return to Sunland Park Drive.

 

Crews will be paving a temporary detour at the I-10/Sunland Park interchange.

I-10 East @ North Mesa

Sunday, April 15

9 pm to 6 am

 

·      I-10 Eastbound will close completely between North Mesa Street (SH 20) and Resler Drive.

·      The North Mesa Street entrance ramp to I-10 Eastbound will close.

 

Detour:  Motorists will exit at North Mesa Street (Exit 11) and follow the detour signs to the Sunland Park Drive eastbound entrance ramp.

 

Traffic pattern change: By 6 am on Monday, April 16, motorists will be traveling on the new eastbound collector‐distributor (CD) lanes for approximately a half mile between North Mesa St (SH 20) and Resler Dr. The traffic pattern switch will be in place for several months while crews rebuild a section of I‐10 East.

 

I-10 East @ North Mesa

 

Overnight

April 16-18

9 pm each night to 6 am each following morning

 

·      The North Mesa Street exit ramp (Exit 11) from I-10 Eastbound will close.

·      McClintock Drive access to South Desert Boulevard will close.

·      South Desert Boulevard will close between Thorn Avenue and North Mesa Street (SH 20).

 

Detour:  Motorists will exit at Redd Road (Exit 9). Follow the detour signs.

 

Crews will be conducting pavement work on South Desert Boulevard.

 

 

The Sunland flyover opens and the Sunland overpass closes on April 30:

Sunland Park

FLYOVER

·      The Sunland Park Drive flyover entrance ramp to I-10 Eastbound remains inaccessible.

 

Detour:  To enter I-10 Eastbound, follow the detour signs to the Paisano Drive entrance ramp.

 

Crews are working to open the all-new Sunland Park flyover ramp.

 

Sunland Park OVERPASS

 

Continuous

Starting April 30 and until further notice

 

·      The Sunland Park Drive overpass that allows traffic to get cross I-10 will be closed for at least five months.

 

Detour:  Traffic will be detoured onto the newly constructed turnaround bridge located alongside the closed overpass.

 

Crews will be demolishing and reconstructing the closed overpass.

 

 

Crews plan to shut down the I-10/Sunland interchange for two back-to-back weekends in May:

I-10 Eastbound traffic will exit at Sunland Park (Exit 13) and immediately re-enter I-10 at the next ramp.

 

Crews will be removing massive steel girders from the old Sunland Park flyover ramp.

TxDoT/Go10 Closures, Detours for Week of March 11

Crews will be working to open the permanent Sunland Park Drive westbound exit ramp this week.   Once the exit ramp is opened, GO 10 will announce it on Twitter, Facebook, and on the GO 10 website.

Motorists on I-10 should comply with the work zone’s 50-mph speed limit as I-10’s lane geometry can change on a day-by-day basis.

Plus, the week of March 19 is when crews are planning to close the Sunland Park flyover ramp. Once closed, it will stay closed for at least six weeks, possibly into early summer.

Once opened, traffic will be driving on the all-new flyover ramp.

·      Northbound Sunland Park Drive will close completely prior to the Sunland Park Drive overpass. Traffic approaching the overpass from Doniphan Drive will be diverted onto the Paisano Drive (US 85) entrance ramp to I-10 Eastbound.

·      The Sunland Park Drive entrance ramp to I-10 Westbound will close.

·      I-10 Westbound will close completely between Executive Center Boulevard and the Sunland Park overpass.

Detour:  Traffic on I-10 Westbound will exit at Executive Center Boulevard (Exit 16), follow Executive Center Boulevard to North Mesa Street (SH 20) to North Desert Boulevard. Motorists may re-enter I-10 Westbound using the North Mesa Street entrance ramp.

·      Crockett Street access to Paisano Drive (US 85) will be closed.

 

Detour:  Motorists will be detoured onto North Mesa Street (SH 20). Follow the detour signs in place.

 

I-10 West @ Executive

·      The right lane on I-10 Westbound will close between Executive Center Boulevard (Exit 16) and the Sunland Park overpass.

 

NOTE:  March 14 is the target date to open the permanent Sunland Park westbound exit ramp. Updates regarding the ramp will be posted on Twitter, Facebook and on the GO 10 website.

Sunland Park Flyover

Target date for closure:  Monday, March 19

 

·      The Sunland Park Drive flyover entrance ramp to I-10 Eastbound will be inaccessible. The flyover ramp will stay closed for at least six weeks and possibly into early summer.

 

 

TxDoT/GO10 Closures for the Week of July 30th

Work continues on the expansion of I-10 in West El Paso, which will now move traffic into some of the new lanes.

GO 10 is targeting August 2nd to switch I-10 West traffic onto new collector-distributor (CD) lanes.

·     The Sunland Park Entrance Ramp to I-10 Westbound will undergo a 15-minute rolling closure.

 

I-10 Detours: I-10 Westbound traffic will exit at Sunland Park (Exit 13) and go to North Mesa Street (SH 20); then, take North Mesa Street to the I-10 interchange where traffic may re-enter I-10 West. I-10 Eastbound traffic will exit at Sunland Park (Exit 13) and re-enter I-10 East at the next entrance ramp. Follow the detour signs in place.

 

Sunland Detours:  Northbound vehicles on Sunland Park Dr (coming from Doniphan Dr) will turn right on Paisano Dr and enter I-10 East. Vehicles will exit at Executive Center (Exit 16), then take Executive Center Blvd to North Mesa St (SH 20). Finally, vehicles will take North Mesa St (SH 20) to Sunland Park Dr.  Southbound vehicles on Sunland Park Dr (coming from Mesa Hills Dr) will be re-directed back to North Mesa Street and follow the detour signs to enter I-10 East or I-10 West.

August 1 & August 3

·     I-10 in both directions closes completely at the Sunland Park Exits (Exit 13).
